Have a Perfect Heart Toward Him
Dearly beloved of God, the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on the behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him. A person with a “perfect heart” is one that completely, wholly looks to God, and trusts Him for his or her sufficiency.
Who would have thought that Abraham would become the Father of many nations when his wife was infertile at 90; her womb was dead, and he was about 100 years old? He was so inadequate, incapable of such a thing.
Abraham did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief; he was strong in believing giving glory to God, and nine months later Sarah gave birth to the promised seed, Isaac!
Abraham was fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able to perform, so God counted his believing to him for righteousness. Abraham’s heart completely trusted God.
How about Noah; who would have thought that he would build the first ship, the Ark, and escape the worldwide flood that destroyed the giants of wickedness from the earth? He was incapable of providing such deliverance, but he trusted God.
Who would have picked Moses to lead the children of Israel out of their bondage in Egypt? Even though he did not think himself capable, God brought Moses along to believe that He was capable of the deliverance He promised. Moses’ heart was perfect toward God.
We could go through the records in God’s Word and look at the examples of all the others who faced insurmountable odds against them; they wholly looked to God for their deliverance.
Men like Joseph, David, Joshua, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, Samuel, and the prophets believed God to perform what He said to them.
They subdued kingdoms, wrought justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of a burning fiery furnace, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens in spite of their inadequacies because they trusted God, and that He was able and willing to deliver them.
Think of their circumstances when you think that yours are impossible. Look at their inadequacies, and the odds they had to overcome when you think your situation is hopeless; it is not!
Your God is the same God that delivered them in spite of their inadequacies, their weaknesses, and the overwhelming odds against them. That God is your Father; what is too hard for Him?
He is the Master of the impossible; this is His forte. The more impossible the situation, the greater is His deliverance. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. The greater the odds against us, the greater He is glorified by the deliverance He provides.
It is not about our inadequacies, short comings, and weaknesses, or the odds against us; it is about God our Father and His almighty power and willingness to deliver us.
Beloved, have a perfect heart toward Him. We walk by believing Him, not by our ability.
Dearly beloved, His grace is always sufficient for us. You and God make a majority in every situation. Trust Him with all your heart.
Cast your cares upon Him, because He cares for you, dearly beloved. This is His Word to you. Have a heart that completely trusts Him. He is looking for those whose heart completely trusts Him.
