God Our Father
Dearly beloved, who is our God?
God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Just think of the power and wisdom that involved! That God is our Father.
He is El Shaddai, the Almighty God, the Most Powerful God. That God is our Father.
God told Moses, “I AM THAT I AM.” “Am” is a form of “hayah” in the Hebrew, and it would better be translated, “I Will Be,” or I Will Become.”
He does not express in that verse what He would become, but three chapters later He does. “And I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you a God, and you shall know that I am the LORD [YHWH: Jehovah] your God.”
That God, Who was the Creator, known as El Shaddai, the Most Powerful God, became the LORD [YHWH] their God, Jehovah Elohim. The One True and Living God became THEIR God.
Dearly beloved, their God became God our Father. The Creator, the Most High God, the Most Powerful God, the LORD their God Who does not change, the One True Living God is God OUR Father, and in Christ we are His dearly beloved children. Such grace!
God describes Himself to us by His names and titles. He makes Himself known to us so we can put our trust in Him.
He has seven redemptive names that He revealed to His people. He is the LORD who was ever present, the LORD that sees and provides, the LORD our peace, the LORD our righteousness, the LORD our canopy, the LORD that heals us; He is the LORD our Shepherd. He is the LORD. He does not change. This God is God our Father, dearly beloved.
God our Father is Light, not darkness. He is the God of love. His Will is only good toward us.
He is the God of all grace and mercy; the God of all comfort, of forgiveness, redemption, and salvation.
Our God is the God of the hope, and of resurrection, and eternal life. He is the LORD, and He changes not. This God is God our Father.
God our Father is for us, not against us. He will never leave us or forsake us. He is always present to deliver us as He was for the children of Israel. He has not changed.
God our Father is the only wise God, the Almighty, the Most Powerful God Who supports us, supplies our every need, and defends us. This God is God our Father, and we need no other.
God is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, and He is God our Father. We are His children, members of His household.
He freely gives us all things with His beloved Son; He blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm, and we are more than conquerors in him that loved us.
Nothing can separate us from Him; in Christ we are His dearly beloved and highly favored children. He has given us the spirit of sonship by which we cry, “Abba, Father.” We are His heirs.
Our times may be uncertain, even troubling, but do not forget Who God our Father is; go to Him in your times of trouble.
He delights in our prayers, and we can be certain and confident that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us, and if we know that He hears us, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of Him. Go to Him.
When you are afraid, go to Him. He will deliver us from all that makes us afraid.
In the face of sickness, God is our Father; go to Him.
In the face of civil unrest, God is our Father; go to Him.
Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we need fear no evil: for God our Father is with us.
The same God that delivered the children of Israel from their captivity by His almighty power is God our Father; He will deliver us.
Remember who God our Father is, dearly beloved; and forget not all His benefits. He is greater than any obstacle we will ever face in this life. He will deliver us from our captivity.
Fear not; God our Father is present, and He is for us, not against us. Go to Him with believing and thanksgiving in your heart for His loving kindnesses and tender mercies toward us. He has not changed, beloved of God.
