Our Vital Relationship with Him
Dearly beloved of God, we have a sharing relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord. What do we share with him?
I Corinthians 1:1-9 describes what we share with him. We are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called holy ones. We are enriched by God’s Word concerning him, and his testimony was confirmed in us so that we do not lack even one aspect of the gift while we are waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will establish us until the end unimpeachable in the Day of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
God is faithful, by Whom we were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. In him we are completely filled with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm; the Father freely gives us all things with him.
We are justified in the justification he accomplished in his death. We will be glorified when he comes to glorify us; he will accomplish it by the authority and power God has given him. We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ when he comes.
In Christ, God has made us partakers of the divine nature, and He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. Beloved, we have a sharing relationship with God our Father; we share in His divine nature.
Godliness is a real, true, vital, spirit to Spirit relationship with God, and our Father desires to have this kind of relationship with us.
Godliness is the opposite of religion, which is only an outward conformity of the flesh. There is no vitality in that kind of relationship.
Our relationship with the Father will be as vital as the time we spend with Him in His Word, and in prayer with Him.
He makes Himself known to us by His Word and by His spirit.
We feed our minds with His Word so that our minds track with the spirit He created in us. As we renew our minds to who we are in Christ it was transform us in practice; that’s the key to the power born in us.
We no longer want to think carnally and focus on the things of the world like those of the world.
We don’t want to remain babes in Christ; we want to grow up in him in all things and become mature children of God who live to do the good pleasure of His will.
We want to pray, and build ourselves up spiritually so we walk in the power from on high we received in the new birth.
We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus on the basis of his good works. Now we can walk in his accomplishments, and God can lead us and guide us; He can direct our paths by the vitality of the new birth reality.
Dearly beloved, we want our relationship with the Father to be vital, burning like a fire shut up in our bones, white hot; not a religious one that just goes through the motions.
We want to be like the believers in the book of Acts who had a vital relationship with the Father and His wonderful Son.
They lived in the reality of their vital Christ-in relationship, and because of that they were able to walk with God and minister deliverance to people.
Wherever they went they walked in the reality of the presence of God; in that real, true, vital spirit to Spirit relationship they shared with Him. They acknowledged that He was with them and He worked in them to will and to do of His good pleasure.
We are the ones that must exercise ourselves unto godliness, and walk in that true, vital sharing relationship with God our Father. Burn white hot dearly beloved, Christ is coming!
