Overcomers by Believing

Dearly beloved of God, we are today who we are because of what we believe. We will be tomorrow where our believing takes us. No one rises above what he believes, and no one can believe more than he has been taught.

What is believing? Believing is to have trust and confidence in information we receive. As the children of God, we are to believe the information God reveals to us in His Word, therefore we walk out on it.

Where do we get believing? Believing comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

The Word of God instructs us that we are to conduct our lives by believing what He says. We walk by believing, not by sight.

The Bible is the revealed Word of God and it reveals His will to us. If God gives us revelation knowledge on any particular subject, we know His will concerning it. He does not want us ignorant of His will.

The Word of God must be our reference for learning if we are to know His Will and learn what He makes available to us. Everything that God addresses to us is available to us.

Unlike people who cannot always bring their words to pass, God is not only able to perform His Word, He is willing to perform it in the lives of those who believe it. The Word of God is alive and powerful because He is the power that energizes it and brings it to pass.

God is the Promisor, the Supplier Who is unlimited in resources.

We are receivers, and we receive His resources by believing what He says.

“For My People have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:13

To whom was God speaking? He was speaking to His people, the people of Israel at that time.

He said that they had committed two evils. First, they forsook Him Who was a fountain of living waters. He was their unlimited source of supply, but they walked away from Him.

Next, they hewed out for themselves cisterns or clay pots, which were limited in what they could supply, and furthermore, their pots were broken, and their limited supply was leaking away.

Instead of believing God, they rejected what He said. They made up their own religious cisterns that could not hold water, consequently they did not have the resources of God’s unlimited supply when they needed them.

Quite a contrast isn’t it: a fountain of living waters, and broken clay pots. A fountain of unlimited supply and broken pots that could not even hold water; what a choice.

What has God made available to us in Christ?

Salvation and the hope of everlasting life and glory, a standing before God in Christ as righteous, justified and forgiven, sanctified, redeemed, given access to Him by the spirit, the nine manifestations of the spirit, fellowship with Him, answered prayer, healing, peace of mind, prosperity, His protection, deliverance; our Father is the fountain of living waters, dearly beloved, He is our sufficiency in all things, all the time. He supplies our every need. He made us more than conquerors in Christ. He highly favored us in Christ with the exceeding riches of His grace.

All of this and more is ours by believing God at His Word. The One True God and His unlimited resources are available to those who believe Him, or we can settle for the broken, leaky pots of religion.

God says to take the shield of believing with which we can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, and the helmet of salvation [deliverance], and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.

Overcome the obstacles you face by believing God at His Word. Expect His deliverance; He is faithful that promised. Got any rivers you think are uncrossable...just sayin'. Believe that it shall be as He has said. He cares for you, dearly beloved.
