Overcomers Like David

Dearly beloved of God, be at peace in your heart; you are not alone. Our Father will never, never leave you, nor ever, ever forsake you. Hold His words in your heart.

The world brings us troubles, but rejoice, our Father delivers us from them all.

The things of this evil age may be depressing, but our Father is greater than anything that may confront us. He is able and willing to deliver us, to care for us, to supply our every need.
We are His dearly beloved and highly favored children; don’t ever lose sight of it.

It may seem that the adversary’s attacks are like a swarm of bees, but our God is present to protect, to deliver, and to save us from our troubles.

Faint not, only believe; all things are possible to him that believes.

We don’t face anything that others before us haven’t faced. Learn from David’s words.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Psalm 23

This psalm that David wrote describes who his God is and what He is willing to do to deliver His people. He is our Shepherd. He sees and provides for us. He is our peace. He is our righteousness. He is present. He fights for us. He sanctifies us.

Dearly beloved, surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives; we will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. We are His dwelling place by the spirit. Not even death will overcome us forever. We have the promise of life in Christ Jesus, dear ones, everlasting life.

David was not without challenges that were greater than his ability to overcome, depressing circumstances, obstacles that appeared overwhelming, committed enemies, deadly attacks on his life, hazardous situations; he faced deadly episodes more than once. He overcame by God’s help, His leading, guidance, and power. God will do the same for us if we will trust Him and take Him at His Word.

Read about David and you will learn why he became a man after God’s heart. It was written so that we can learn from his example and from what he went through, dearly beloved. You are not alone. Walk in His shoes and learn. We are overcomers by the power of God as David was.
