God Made, Not Man Made
Dearly beloved of God, there is one body in Christ. God, His Father conceived the idea of one body in Christ. He planned for it since the overthrow in the garden.
Jesus Christ the Lord did the work to make this body possible. God put all things in subjection under Christ’s feet and made him head over all things in the Church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
The Lord will return for the members of his body, the Church, and gather them together up to him in the air, and from then on the members will be with him forever.
This body is a group that God constituted to be “in Christ” due to our vital union with him. This body has nothing to do with color, race, nationality, or sex. It is a spiritual body, not a fleshly one.
Anyone that confesses Jesus as Lord and believes that God raised him from the dead will be saved and are members in particular of this heavenly body.
God gave sealed each member in this body with the spirit as the deposit of their future inheritance in Christ.
Each and every member receives every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ.
Each member is complete in Christ who is the head of all principality and power.
The Father freely gives every member of his body all things with Christ.
Each member is completely filled with all the rights, privileges, and ability of their seating in the heavenly realm in Christ.
By the revelation given to the Apostle Paul, we are exhorted “to walk worthily with regard to the calling to which you were called with all humility and meekness, with longsuffering, upholding one another in love.”
The unity in this body is unity from the spirit (the gift of holy spirit received from God by people on and after Pentecost.) We are to put forth a diligent effort to guard the unity that is from the spirit in the uniting bond of peace.
There are seven points to this unity.
There is one body, the Church, which is the body of Christ. This body is not synonymous with any earthly organization, it is in the heavenly realm. God made this body in Christ, and He made Christ the head of it.
There is one spirit, the gift of holy spirit, which is the same spirit given to every member of the body of Christ when we are born again. This is the spirit of sonship, and it is the uniting and life giving power for all the members in the body of Christ.
We were called in one hope of our calling, which begins with our gathering together up to meet the Lord in the air, and which will continue forever.
There is one Lord. God made Jesus both Lord and Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at His right hand in the heavenlies. He is Lord of all in heaven and on earth in this age and in the age to come. Only God is above him.
There is one believing, which comes by hearing what God has to say. God gave us the revelation knowledge of His Word to believe.
There is one baptism. Every member of the body of Christ is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, as stated in Acts 2:38, by which each of us receives the remission of sins and the gift of holy spirit from God.
There is one God and Father of all, Who is over all and through all and in all.
Dearly beloved, every saint shares these points of unity. They are God made, not man made, and nothing can change them. Rejoice!
