The Exceeding Riches of His Grace

Dearly beloved of God, the Lord Jesus Christ justified us freely by his grace through the redemption that is in him.

What could those who were dead in sin, ungodly, enemies of God, and who were at one time by nature the children of wrath do to deserve such riches of God’s grace?

Were we justified because we have kept the law given to Moses? No, the Scriptures declare that both Judeans and Gentiles are “all under sin.” “There is none righteous, no, not even one.” “Therefore,” the Word of God declares, “by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

Were we justified from sin because of our goodness? Jesus Christ said that there was none good save God. He included himself in this statement when the rich man came to him and called him good master.

We were not justified by anything we did in our flesh, nor by our genealogy, nor because of our law keeping, nor because of our goodness or good works; we all came short of the glory of God. God showed us His mercy and grace. He justified us freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Jesus Christ did the good work to justify us. He believed God to fulfill everything necessary to justify us. He came to do His Father’s will and to finish the work His Father gave him to justify us, to redeem, and to save us.

Jesus Christ was the author and finisher of the faith. He endured the cross because of the joy set before him, despising the shame, and he alone, thus far, was raised from the dead, ascended, and was seated at the right hand of the throne of God in the heavenly realm. No one else can lay claim to this.

We were justified by Jesus Christ’s believing, and because we have confessed him as Lord, and believed that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved when he returns to gather us up to meet him in the air.

For by grace are you saved through believing; and that salvation is not because of what you have or have not done; it is the gift of God: not of works lest anyone should boast about what they have done. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus upon the basis of his good works.

Jesus Christ freely justified those who believe in him.

“Through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: and by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.”

Jesus Christ showed us grace by giving his life for us.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.” It is all by grace, dearly beloved.

Adam brought condemnation upon all men by his one transgression, even so through one act of righteousness of Jesus Christ there resulted justification of life to all who believe on him.

“God, being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved.)”

Dearly beloved, when we read and believe the Scriptures, it is evident why God calls this period of time in history the Administration of the Grace of God. Thank God and His wonderful Son for the grace they have shown us.

God made us alive together with Christ, He raised us up with him, and seated us with him in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus.

Why did He do it? So that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

God, our Father has only begun to show us the exceeding riches of His grace that He has in store for us in the ages to come, dearly beloved.

Rejoice, dearly beloved of God, and again I say rejoice!
