His Resurrection and Our Salvation
Dearly beloved of God, why is the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead so pivotal?
Jesus Christ is the only man in history to be resurrected by God out from all the others who have ever died. He is alive forevermore. He is the firstborn from the dead.
God marked out Jesus Christ as His Son by his resurrection from the dead. The resurrection was God’s validation that he was indeed the Son of God.
God made Jesus both Lord and Christ. He made His Son Jesus Christ lord both of the living and the dead.
Mohammed is dead. Buddha is dead. Jesus Christ is alive, and the only man that is no longer subject to death.
The Lord Jesus Christ is now “the living one” who is alive forever and ever. God gave him the keys of death and the state of death.
The Lord Jesus Christ is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God by him, seeing that he ever lives to make intercession for them.
God raised His Son out from among all the dead people, He designated him as both Lord and Christ, and He declares that there is salvation in no other. God made everlasting life available to all who believe on His Son and confess that he is Lord.
Romans 10:9
That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and will believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.
God gave the Lord Jesus Christ the power and authority to save those who believe on him. He also has the power over every grave and they will come forth at his command.
We are not saved by our works, but by the accomplishments of the Lord Jesus Christ, who God raised from the dead. This salvation is by the grace of God. We are saved through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. That salvation is not of ourselves; it is the gift of God; not of our works, lest any man should boast.
When Christ returns for the Church, we will receive the salvation for which we hope.
I Thessalonians 4:15-18
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not precede them which are asleep.
For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive, and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
The Lord Jesus Christ alone has been given this vast power by God.
When Christ returns for the Church, God has determined that we will be conformed to the image of His Son, and we will be glorified with him forever. He will transform our humiliated bodies to be like his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself.
Rejoice forevermore, dearly beloved, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Who knows, it could even be today.
