Don’t Believe Your Lying Eyes
Dearly beloved of God, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the authorities, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the heavenly realm.
The thing is, to the natural man and the carnal Christian it looks like we wrestle against people. The senses are easily deceived; don’t believe your lying eyes.
God does not want His people deceived by these wicked spirits. He wants us fully clothed with His armor so that we can stand against the strategies of the devil.
In the Old Testament we read of people who had positions of service that should have represented the One True God, while in fact they worked for the god of this world, the devil.
We read about some kings, priests, prophets, judges, elders, and others that turned away from the One True God and led His people away from Him.
God instituted these positions of service to represent Him, but in fact some of them rejected Him, rejected His Word and His council, and they led people away from Him and into bondage.
The rejection was so bad that both the ten northern tribes of Israel, and the two southern tribes of Judah were led away into captivity by foreign powers because they would not listen to the One True God, nor receive His deliverance.
God sent His Son Jesus Christ at one, if not the worst time in their history. Judea came under the rule of the Roman Empire.
Their king did not stand for God; no, he plotted to kill the young child Jesus after the wise men from the east told him of his birth. He had all the children two and under murdered. John the Baptist, the greatest prophet born among women according to Jesus Christ, was beheaded by their king.
Annas, the chief priest according to the Law, and his son in law, Caiaphas, who was made chief priest in his place by the Romans, were born of the seed of the devil, as were others of the priesthood.
The Sanhedrin, the ruling body of Israel plotted the murder of Jesus Christ and gave their vote to have him crucified.
Amid this darkness, God sent His Son to save those who would believe in him.
In Matthew 13, Jesus taught several parables that enable us to understand these things and it provides us with valuable spiritual insight.
The parable of the tares of the field is recorded in Matthew 13:24-30. Jesus’ disciples asked him to explain the parable to them after he sent the multitude away.
His explanation is given in Matthew 13:36-43.
“He that sowed the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world [age]; the reapers are the angels.
“As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this age. The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father, Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Dearly beloved, God does not lie, His Word is truth, and He has answers for those who will listen and take Him at His Word. Believing comes by hearing, by hearing the Word of God.
Don't believe your lying eyes, believe God at His Word and walk with Him.
Christ is coming; make no mistake about it, and all that God has said shall come to pass. Rejoice forevermore!
