Where is This Coming From?

Dearly beloved of God, our adversary the devil can no longer impeach us before our Heavenly Father, or have us removed from the position that God gave us in Christ Jesus. The best he can do is get us to doubt who we are in Christ; to question who God says we are in Christ.

The adversary marshals the forces and workers of evil to attack us day after day to believe his lies instead of the truth from the One True God. He is behind “the fake news” in every situation we face. He tempts us to not believe God at His Word, but to believe the senses information he plants in circumstances and situations and by what others say to persuade us otherwise.

How many times have you been down on yourself, overwhelmed with a sense of unworthiness? When was the last time you questioned if you have been wasting your life? How many times have you compared yourself to someone else as the measure of your success? How often have you been tempted to doubt that in Christ you are God’s dearly beloved and highly favored child; that He truly loves you, that His Will is only good concerning you? When was the last time you had the thought that you were not good enough for God to answer your prayers or to deliver you? How many times have you been tempted to care more about what someone thinks about you than what God says He thinks of you? The adversary is behind all of these temptations.

Bury the prison of the past; it is gone forever. Moses and Paul had to let go of their past; so do you. Live today; not in yesterday or tomorrow. Today is the only day you have to live.

The adversary uses the old man of the flesh as his base of operation. He works overtime to influence how we think and feel. He manipulates people, circumstances and situations, feelings, gossip, and other people’s opinions about you to get you to doubt what God says. He will deceive you with another gospel that is not the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. His sphere of operation is the course of this world.

Dearly beloved, he came to Jesus Christ as the tempter. He used God’s Word against God’s only begotten Son; do you think he will do any less against you? He comes with suggestions like, “Did God really say...?”

The adversary attacked Jesus from within and from without. He used every means possible to tempt him to doubt God, to doubt himself, and his purpose, and to listen to him instead.

Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin. He himself suffered being tempted and he knows how to help them that are tempted.

The devil or satan is the liar, the tempter, the murderer, the hinderer, the accuser, the deceiver, the oppressor of God’s people; he is our adversary.

The adversary seduces people to believe that he is an angel of light, but there is no light in him. He steals, kills, and destroys people. He is the “so-called” god of this world, the prince of the power of the air. He works to blind people’s eyes to the truth of God’s Word, not enlighten them. He is a counterfeiter and he works in darkness.

Dearly beloved, this is who we stand against day by day. We do not wrestle with people; we wrestle with wicked spirits from on high.

God instructs us to put on the whole armor of God so that we can stand against the strategies of the devil. The full armor of God will enable us to resist the adversary. God does not want us ignorant of the adversary’s devices; he does not want him to get an advantage over us.

Believe God; not the adversary. We are the righteousness of God in Christ. God made Jesus Christ who did not know sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. In Christ we stand before God without any sense of sin, guilt, or condemnation.

We are saved, redeemed, and sanctified in Christ.

In Christ, we are holy and without blame, and unimpeachable in the Father’s sight.

God forgave us in Christ by the riches of His grace.

We are in Christ and the Father blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.

In the new birth, we were sealed with the gift of holy spirit for eternal life.

God united us with Christ in his accomplishments.

God is for us, not against us. There is no good thing He will withhold from us.

We have the hope of Christ’s return and deliverance from death and/or this evil world. Our hope is to be glorified with Christ Jesus our Lord.

You are God’s dearly beloved and highly favored in Christ. He did all of this for you by the good pleasure of His will. You are a son of God, heaven bound, and all hell can’t stop you from going; believe what God says!

Everything you have was due to Jesus Christ’s accomplishments and God freely gave you all things with His Son by His great grace. He conformed you to his image. Don’t get talked out of it; believe the truth of God’s Word.

Be strong in the Lord and in his exerted strength for you. Take up the shield of believing wherewith you will be able to extinguish all the flaming darts of the wicked one.

Know and believe that God will deliver you in your situation. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray always with every prayer request in the spirit and stay on watch.

Dearly beloved resist the devil and he will flee. Speak God’s Word to him and say, “It is written!”. Stand; stand like Jesus Christ stood. Align your thinking with who God says you are in Christ; believe it.

Don’t be conformed to this world; be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you can prove the good, well pleasing, and perfect will of God in your life.

Your challenge is no different from that which every son of God faces. Good news; we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus our Lord. Gird up the loins of your mind and believe God at His Word. Stand dearly beloved; Christ is coming!
