A Good Report

Dearly beloved of God, if those cited in Hebrews 11 did what they did by believing information that God gave them, so can we. We can believe the information God gives us having confidence that it will be as He has said.

God gave them a good report for their believing. They believed the information God gave them concerning the coming of Christ and what he would accomplish, and they believed God in the situations they faced. They believed what God said in spite of what they saw.

Are you facing a difficult situation? Is it as tough as the one Noah faced? He was faced with a world-wide flood. Before the flood came it had not even rained, much less flooded, but nonetheless he built an ark at God’s direction. Is your problem bigger than the one he faced?

Moses led the children of Israel out of their captivity through the sea on dry ground, for forty years of wandering in the wilderness and all that it entailed, and he did it by believing God day by day. Is your plate as full as his was?

Have you faced Goliath? David did, and he overcame him by believing God. Is your situation more challenging than his was?

God gave these men and women information and they responded to what God said by believing. They had trust and confidence in the information God revealed to them and they acted on it in spite of the situations they faced. The rest is history.

Dearly beloved, it is no different for us. We are to believe the information God gives us as they believed the words He gave them. Believing comes by hearing, by hearing the word of God. We will not be disappointed in our expectation of His promises anymore than they were. Why? He is faithful that promised.

They did great exploits by believing God at His Word. Through believing they conquered kingdoms, carried out justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, became strong in battle, turned back the armies of the enemies, and much more.

Dearly beloved, face your difficulties as they did, by believing God. He will bring His Word to pass for us as He did for them. The Almighty God is our Father and He is willing to perform His Word as we believe Him.

God says, “The just will live by believing.” Since we have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ we will live with him forever when he comes.

God instructs us that as His children we are to walk by believing.

We believe God’s promise concerning salvation; we believe the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus. We believe His promise of all sufficiency in all things all the time. We believe that we were healed by the stripes laid on Jesus Christ. We believe that He will supply all our need by His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We believe that when we pray it will be as He has promised. We believe to do the works Jesus Christ did and greater. We believe to walk in the complete reality that is ours in Christ, from the new birth, to obtaining the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming.

We walk by believing , dearly beloved, by believing what our God says. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus our Lord; God says so, so believe it! Faint not; do not be afraid, believe what God says.

If you want a good report like theirs, believe the information He gave for our believing. If you lack wisdom in a situation, ask the Father for it; He will generously give it to you, but ask in believing, without wavering. Do not be double minded.

“Above all, taking the shield of believing, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked [one].” Ephesians 6:16

Have a good report, dearly beloved.
