Fear Not

Dearly beloved by God, FEAR NOT! Fear is never the correct response to what you are facing: ONLY BELIEVE!

Whether God sent judges, prophets, priests, apostles, teachers, angels, or His Son with His Word in times of trouble, His Word was “Fear not.”

“The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25

The world is always pushing fear. Today it is Corona virus, tomorrow it will be something else; your job, your finances, your retirement, concern for your family, fear of an accident, sickness, or even death. “Fear not” is God’s Word to us.

God expects His people to walk by believing what He says. Our God is able and willing to deliver us, and He gave us His Word that He would; therefore we do not need to fear. Fear and believing are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

“Say ye not a confederacy,’ to all them to whom this People shall say, ‘A confederacy;’ neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.” Isaiah 8:12

The children of wrath are run by their fears; they do not have all sufficiency in all things all the time as we do. Fear enslaves people, it ruins their lives.

What was God’s Word to Joshua?

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9

What was God’s Word to Israel?

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6

What is God’s Word to us?

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear [cowardice]; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:7

Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ told Jairus, “Be not afraid, only believe.” He faced something more severe than a virus; his little girl was dead. Instead of being overcome with fear the Lord challenged him to believe. Jesus raised her from the dead.

People live in the fear of death their entire lifetime, but the Lord Jesus Christ delivered us from the bondage of the fear of death. We no longer have to be enslaved by this fear. We have the victory over sin and death through the Lord Jesus Christ.

If we don’t need to be afraid of death, what in life do we have to fear, dearly beloved?

“Be vigilant. Stand fast in the [right way of] believing. Conduct yourselves like mature men. Be strong.” I Corinthians 16:13 WT

Fear not, only believe the Word of God. You have the victory that overcomes the world.

Whosoever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? The victory is yours, dearly beloved.
