Be Your True Self

Dearly beloved of God and highly favored in His sight, none of us is free to only live for ourselves. God exhorts us to serve one another in love instead of serving only our own desires.

As sons of God, we should not live with callous indifference to the needs of others; we should walk in love and give such as we have in order to minister to those in need. “Such as we have” includes our operation of the nine manifestations of the holy spirit, prayer, as well as material things; the need determines what we are to give.

God looks on our hearts, not the outward appearance. This is pointedly obvious when you consider why God anointed His Son with His spirit and sent him into the world. He anointed Jesus to preach the gospel to the destitute, to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised….

This is heart work, not an outward conformity to religion. Jesus Christ was the embodiment of love. He was love personified.

We are to love with the love of God without dissimulation, that means we are to love without hypocrisy.

The love of God was shed abroad in our hearts by the new birth spirit which was given unto us. Now we are capable of being transformed by renewing our minds so that we can live to do the Father’s will and not ours alone. Now we can live with the love of God in the renewed mind in action, in manifestation in our lives
.
We don’t just play the part, or hypocritically act the role of a Christian; we live as the sons of God we became when we were born again of God’s spirit. We live as our true selves, as God’s sons.

No one can legislate this behavior with a law; it comes from the heart. We must supply the free will determination to live as the Father instructs us to live. He would have us love Him and love one another as the Lord Jesus Christ loved those for whom he gave his life.

Oh dearly beloved by the Father, present yourself as a living sacrifice, holy, well-pleasing unto God; it is only reasonable after all He did for us in Christ.

The newness of spirit life we have in Christ is to be lived with the love of God in the renewed mind in action in our lives to the end that we serve in this newness of the spirit.

No carnal commandment can produce this end. We live under the "law" of life in Christ Jesus, and walk in the “law” of love. This is the rule by which we strive to live.

Love is greater than even duty; duty is what we ought to do. Love is the inner working of God in our hearts so that we can do the Father’s will.

Love motivated God to save us and His love is now born within us. It is our turn to live love. Love activates the power of God in us to achieve His will in practice.

Dearly beloved, the love way is the only way that pleases the Father, so live love.

Our inner longing should be, “Father what may I do for you today?” Practice the presence of God; it is your “natural environment” as a son of God. Live love. We were born to live; we were born again to serve in love. Be a lover; be your true self.
