On the Same Page

Dearly beloved by the Father and highly favored in His sight, if we are to know anything about spiritual matters we will have to listen to what God reveals to us about them from the scriptures; it is the only reference for truth we can trust.

If we are to walk with Him, we will have to listen to the revelation of His Word. Every child of God ought to be on the same page. God wants us all to believe the same thing, not be of different opinions.

God does not want us to be ignorant of spiritual matters; He wants us to understand the good pleasure of His will. God’s will is for all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth, but how few take Him up on His offer.

God does not respect one person over any other person. What He has done for one person, He will do for any and all if they will believe what He says. He is not a respecter of persons. God is not holding us back from knowing and believing His will.

God directed the Apostle Paul to write, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

If we rightly divide God’s Word, every scripture regarding the identical subject will agree because truth cannot contradict itself. The Word of God will interpret itself and it interpret itself in the verse, in the context, or the interpretation will have been given previously.

Dearly beloved of God, if you want answers they are there for those who will take God at His Word, for those who will believe what He says.

The Word of God is as true today as it was the day He first revealed it to “holy men of God.” God gave them the revelation knowledge of His Word to make known His will. He had them write it down for all times.

It does not matter whether the subject is salvation, the manifestations of holy spirit (erroneously called “gifts”), answered prayer, our hope in Christ, etc.; there is no other way of knowing the will of God without knowing the revelation knowledge of God’s Word.

If the people we read of in God’s Word could be certain of the will of God, so can we. God has not changed.

God is the Originator of the information He revealed as His Word. He revealed it so that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Dearly beloved, the Word of God reveals the wisdom of God to us concerning Christ and all that he accomplished.

I Corinthians 1:1-10: Working Translation by Rev. Walter Cummins:

“1 Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and the brother Sosthenes
2 to the church of God that is in Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, the called holy [sanctified] ones, with all who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, theirs as well as ours.
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God given to you in Christ Jesus,
5 that you were enriched in him in everything, in all word and in all knowledge,
6 even as the witness of Christ was established in you,
7 so that you do not lack in even one aspect of the gift while you are waiting for the revelation [appearing] of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 He will also establish you until the end and hence unimpeachable in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful, by Whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Now I exhort you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you but that you be fully equipped with the same mind and with the same opinion.”

Dearly beloved, this is the will of God. Let’s be sure we are on the same page with Him. We walk with God by believing His Word. Believing comes by hearing, by hearing the Word of God.
