It Cannot Be Broken
Dearly beloved of God, the Word of God cannot be broken. That is not my opinion; the Lord Jesus Christ said so himself.
God is both able and willing to perform every jot and tittle of His Word. He is the guarantor of every word that comes out of His mouth. Far too many have underestimated God’s Word.
Jesus Christ received the words that he taught from God, His Father.
John 7: 16
Jesus answered them, and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His that sent Me.
John 17: 8a
For I have given unto them the words which Thou gavest Me….
Jesus gave people the words that God gave him. He believed God according to His Word. How much did he trust God at His Word?
John 10:17 and 18
Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.
Jesus was willing to lay down his life because he believed that God would raise him from the dead according to His Word! He trusted that God would perform His Word as He promised.
Jesus Christ believed that the scripture cannot be broken. We should imitate his attitude towards God’s Word.
God is not a respecter of persons; He respects those who take Him at His Word. As God fulfilled His Word for the Lord Jesus, so He will fulfill His Word concerning us.
I have heard people say that God’s Word is no longer important today. What did Jesus Christ say about that?
Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
It is much more profitable to believe what the Lord said than to listen to the naysayers.
We can stake our lives on God’s Word concerning us from our salvation, to our sonship rights and privileges, to our hope of Christ’s return, and our inheritance as the children of God.
God has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of His Word. He has given us exceeding great and precious promises that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature.
Dearly beloved, we can stake our lives on God’s Word the same as Jesus Christ did. As he said, “It is written,” and so it shall be. The Word of God cannot be broken.
