A Very Present Help
Dearly beloved of God, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” This is a living reality for us today as it was for King Hezekiah in his day.
These words in Psalm 46 were not just words to Hezekiah, they expressed a living reality to him. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
We can learn from Hezekiah and His walk with God, dearly beloved. We may not be a king like he was, or be under attack by a powerful army of superior force as he was, or be sick unto death like he was, but in our times of trouble God is our refuge and strength the same as He was for him. He is a very present help in our troubles.
God does not respect one person above another. What He has done for one, He is both able and willing to do for all who take Him at His Word.
Unfortunately, the holidays do not stop the adversary’s attacks against us, but God is our refuge and strength; He is a very present help in our troubles.
This year our troubles may seem greater than most years because of the China virus, or lock downs, or hypocritical government mandates, or foreign and domestic tampering with our elections, or economic challenges we may be facing because of these things, but in them all, God is our refuge and strength; He is a very present help in trouble.
Regardless of our circumstances and challenges, God is our refuge and strength; He is a very present help in your troubles. Remember to factor Him into the equation.
God plus you makes you more than a conqueror regardless of the obstacles you face. Face them like David faced Goliath, like Hezekiah faced Sennacerib’s siege of Jerusalem, like Elisha faced the great host that compassed him about. God is our refuge and strength; He is a very present help in trouble. Go to Him and He will deliver you as He delivered them. These examples were written for our learning.
Cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you. He is for you, not against you, dearly beloved.
His throne of grace is open to us and His ears are open to our cries. He sees our every need and He liberally provides us with all things to enjoy. He delivers us out of all our troubles.
The LORD is present; He is near, and we have access to Him by the spirit we received in the new birth, so confidently go to Him and speak freely with Him; His ears are open to our prayers.
God our Father heals the broken hearted, He mends our shattered dreams, He supplies, supports, and defends us with help that only He can provide. He is our refuge and strength. He is a very present help in our troubles, dearly beloved. What is too hard for Him?
Seek the LORD, He will listen to you, and deliver you from all that makes you afraid. You are His dearly beloved child. He will never leave you or forsake you.
They that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Trust Him; He is faithful that promised, dearly beloved. Wait patiently for the LORD, He will hear your cry.
Blessed is the one that makes the LORD his trust; He is our help and our deliverer.
Dearly beloved, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Let the peace of God rule in your heart as you trust Him.
