The Truth and Liberty
Dearly beloved of God, the Word of God is to the children of God, what the Constitution is to the citizens of the United States.
The founding fathers determined that our freedoms are God-given, not granted to them by a government. The Constitution limits the rights of the government to rule over us; it protects our liberty.
The constitution is under assault. The assault of our constitutional liberties has been egregious, but it is nowhere near the adversary’s assault against the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ, and the liberty we have in him.
Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ came to make us free. He said, “If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8: 31, 32
The truth will make us free from sin and death’s reign over us, free from the power of darkness; free to be the sons of God and have eternal life. He made us truly free. Christ freed us with freedom, therefore, stand fast in that liberty.
The truth is the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ our Lord. It was promised before by God’s prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning God’s Son, who came from the seed of David according to the flesh and who was marked out as the Son of God with power according to the Spirit, Who is Holiness [Sanctification], by the resurrection of the dead, namely, of Jesus Christ our Lord. See Romans 1: 2-4.
Some of this gospel was known previously, and other parts of it were a mystery hidden in God.
God gave Paul the revelation of the gospel of God that he declared. He revealed the wisdom of God concerning Jesus Christ; what he accomplished, and who we are in Christ. God gave Paul the revelation of the grace of God, the revelation of mystery of God concerning Christ.
He made known God’s revelation about the administration of the grace of God, the administration of the mystery concerning Christ Jesus the Lord.
Had the adversary known this information he would not have had the Lord Jesus Christ crucified, but he didn’t.
God sent His apostle, “to enlighten all people regarding what is the administration of the mystery (which has previously been hidden from the ages in God, Who created all things, so that through the Church the multifarious wisdom of God could now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm in accordance with the purpose of the ages, which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ephesians 3:9-11
What was this mystery hidden in God previously? “Namely, that the Gentiles should be joint heirs and joint members of the same body and joint partakers of the promise [what was promised] in Christ Jesus by the gospel.” Ephesians 3:6
God sent the Apostle Paul to those who were previously Gentiles in the flesh. They were uncircumcised, and at that time they were without Christ, aliens from the citizenship of Israel and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and being without God in the world.
However, in Christ Jesus those who were formerly far away from God and His covenant promises, the Gentiles, have now become nearby by the blood of Christ. In fact, he is our peace, who has made both Judeans and Gentiles one. He created in himself one new man from the two thus making peace.
Jesus Christ reconciled them both to God in one body by means of the cross, by which he killed the hostility.
Jesus Christ came and proclaimed the gospel regarding peace to those who were far off (the Gentiles) and peace to those who were nearby (the Judeans), because through him we both have access to the Father by one spirit. Oh rejoice and give God thanks.
“So then you are no longer strangers and visiting foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy [sanctified] ones and members of the household of God.” Ephesians 2:19
Both the Judeans and the Gentiles are being built upon the foundation of what the apostles and prophets taught, of which Christ Jesus is the chief corner stone.
“In Christ, the entire building being framed together grows into a holy sanctuary in the lord. In him, you also are being built together for God’s dwelling place by the spirit.” This is the teaching of Ephesians 2:11-21
Dearly beloved, the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ has been constantly under assault by the adversary and his minions ever since God revealed the wisdom of the mystery and the grace of God; in fact it has been perverted into a different gospel from the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ.
Dearly beloved, this is corruption at its worst; it is far worse than the political corruption of our day, which is indeed appalling. Our liberty in Christ is under assault.
The gospel of God has been replaced with the lies of religion. God did not send Jesus Christ to form a religion; He sent him to save us, to redeem us, to given us entrance into the kingdom of God, to sanctify us, to justify us, to forgive us, to deliver us from the reign of sin and death, to make us righteous, holy and without blame, and unimpeachable in His sight, to make us the children of God, to give us access to God our Father by the spirit, to make us God’s dwelling place, and to glorify us with Christ.
God sent Jesus Christ to accomplish what we could not accomplish for ourselves, and to freely give us all things with Christ.
Dearly beloved, Christianity is the way of God our Father with His family, with His dearly beloved children.
The Word of God is the only place we will find the truth; you will never find it set forth in tradition, creeds, or by the decrees of church conclaves.
All Scripture is God-breathed, and it is profitable. It is the only place we can learn the truth of the gospel of God concerning God's Son, Jesus Christ the Lord.
God would have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Speak it, dearly beloved, speak it!
