It Is Quite a List
Dearly beloved of God, how great is God’s great love wherewith He loved us? Jesus Christ said that God loves us as He loved him. See John 17:23.
Jesus Christ always did his Father’s will. It is easy to understand that God loved His Son, but God showed us His great love while we were ungodly, we were dead in sin, and enemies of God.
In spite of this, God loves us as He loved Jesus Christ. That is great love indeed.
What does God do for those who love Him?
“We know that in everything God works for good with those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 Nestle-Aland
God determined beforehand that we would be conformed to the image of His Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Moreover, He called us, He justified us, and He glorified us.
“He Who did not even spare His own Son, but delivered him up on behalf of all of us, how will He not also freely give us all things with him?” Romans 8:32 WTJ
In everything God works for good with those who love Him. He freely gives us all things with Christ. This is quite a list.
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Answer: nothing will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Nothing! Read Romans 8:35-39.
Add I Corinthians 2:9 to the list. “But as it is written, Eye has not seen and ear has not heard and it has not entered into the heart of mankind what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
God’s great love wherewith He loves us is truly remarkable, and so is His rich mercy, and great grace toward us in Christ Jesus. How could we ever doubt His great love for us?
I John 4:9 and 10
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation [the atonement] for our sins.
I John 5:11-13 WTJ
11 Now the witness [to us] is this: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
13 I have written these things to you [little children] who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Rejoice, and thank God for His great love for us and what He has done for those who love Him. The list just keeps growing.
I John 5:14 and 15 WTJ
14 Now this is the confidence that we have toward Him: if we make a request for anything according to His will, He listens to us,
15 and if we know that He listens to us (whatever we request), then we know that we have the requests that we have requested from Him.
This truth concerning our prayers is repeated a number of times in the Scripture; we ought to believe it, beloved of God.
If God loved us enough to save us, and give us sonship and eternal life, we should not have anything but confidence in Him when we pray.
Answered prayer is one more thing that God does for them that love Him. It is quite a list, isn’t it?!
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. Beloved, now we are the sons of God. Live as the son of God you are. God has done great things for those who love Him.
Dearly beloved of God, these are only a few of the things that God does for them that love Him. It is quite a list.
