You Are Righteous Now
Dearly beloved of God, thousands, maybe even millions of Christians live in condemnation thinking that they are just not good enough. News flash; you are not, but in Christ, and by his accomplishments God justified you by His great grace and mercy.
There is no reason to be sin-conscious because God justified you by Jesus Christ’s accomplishments, and He forgave you “according to the riches of His grace which He abounded toward you.” [See Ephesians 1:7 and 8]
God wants every Christian to know these truths; in fact, He wants all people to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
God has not held out on us, but many Christians are ignorant of the good pleasure of His will because no one has taught them the Word of God.
Many believe that they are still under the law of the Old Covenant that God gave Moses for Israel, but that is not the case. Christ was the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes concerning the Lord Jesus Christ [See Romans 10:4].
Acts 13: 38 and 39
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man [Jesus Christ] is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him [Jesus Christ] all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Jesus Christ justified us from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. What wonderful good news!
Romans 3:22- 5:21 sets forth the truth concerning our justification by Jesus Christ and his accomplishments. Let’s allow the Word of God to speak for itself on this subject.
Romans3:24
Being justified freely by His [God's] grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;
Romans 3: 26
To declare , I say, at this time His [God’s] righteousness: that He [God] might be just and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Romans 4: 24 and 25
24 Being justified freely by his [God’s] grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation [an atoning sacrifice] through faith in his blood, to declare his [God’s] righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Romans 5: 1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5: 9
Much more then, being now justified by his [Jesus Christ’s] blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:16-19
16 And not as it was by one that sinned [Adam], so is the gift [the free gift of grace]: for the judgment was by one [Adam] to condemnation, but the free gift is of [from] many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man's offence [Adam’s] death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one [Adam] judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [Jesus Christ] the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience [Adam’s] many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [Jesus Christ] shall many be made righteous.
Justification is the act by which one is set forth as righteous before God.
What is righteousness? It is the God-given justification in Christ whereby a person stands in the presence of God without any consciousness of sin, guilt, or shortcomings.
So there is now no condemnation, no judgement against those who are in Christ Jesus [See Romans 8:1 and 33, 34], and we will never again come unto condemnation.
What wonderful good news!
II Corinthians 5: 21 WTJ
He [God] made him [Jesus Christ] who did not know sin to be sin for us so that we might become the justness of God in him.
Rejoice, and thank God for His great love for us, and His rich mercy, and grace toward us in Christ Jesus. In Christ we are righteous now!
