The Accomplishment and the Proof
Dearly beloved of God, God sent His Son to accomplish what none of us could accomplish for ourselves, and then He freely gave us all things with His Son.
The gospel of God concerns God’s Son, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh, and marked out as the Son of God with power, by the resurrection out from among the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus Christ is the first, and only one thus far to be resurrected from the dead, glorified, and seated at the Father’s right side. He is the only man in heaven so far. Every other dead person is still dead, and corrupting in the grave. They are not alive anywhere.
The resurrection is what distinguishes Jesus as God’s Son, and God his Father made him both Lord and Christ after he raised him from the dead. The resurrection validates that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and it validates his work on our behalf.
The Lord Jesus Christ said that God his Father committed all judgment unto him. He also said that the hour is coming in the which, all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; some to life, and some to damnation.
Jesus Christ has not yet performed all judgment, nor have people been resurrected from the dead. These things will take place in the end of this age according to Matthew 13:39 and 40.
We do not gain this life at death; at death we begin corruption in the grave. We will gain this life when the Lord Jesus Christ raises the dead at his coming.
For the Church of the Grace of God this will occur when Jesus Christ returns to gather us together up to meet him in air.
I Thessalonians 4: 16 and 17
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the dead in Christ will rise first:
17 Then we which are alive, and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
How does one qualify to be part of this salvation?
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
God determined the standard by which He would save people, and He determined that it would be in Christ, and by his accomplishments. He made Jesus Lord, and he validated it by raising him from the dead, and He freely gives us all things with His Son.
Ephesians 2:8 and 9
For by grace are ye saved though faith: and that [salvation] not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
Thank God for His great grace, and love, and for having mercy on us through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ accomplished the will of God concerning our salvation, and the proof is that God raised him from the dead. He was the first begotten from the dead. Our hope of salvation is in him, dearly beloved.
Come quickly Lord Jesus.
