Beloved by God Our Father
Dearly beloved of God, when John baptized Jesus, something phenomenal happened.
Luke 3:21, 22
21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
22 And the holy spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, “Thou art My beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”
God audibly verified that Jesus was His beloved Son.
God again affirmed that Jesus was His beloved Son while on the mount, when he was transfigured and his appearance was altered, and his raiment became white and glistering. In the vision, Moses and Elijah appeared in glory and spoke of Jesus’ exodus that he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. Peter suggested that they make three tabernacles for them, not knowing what he said.
Matthew 17: 5
While he [Peter] yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, “This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”
Can you imagine having been there with Jesus, seeing him transfigured before you, and hearing God Himself say this? If that blows your mind, listen to this.
Romans 1:7
To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul wrote these words by revelation that he received from God. The saints, or holy ones, are called beloved of God. The Word of God also confirms that all of God’s children are called saints, and are the beloved of God.
I Thessalonians 1:4 WTJ
We do this knowing, brothers, beloved by God, His choosing of you
We are beloved by God! He chose us in Christ.
II Thessalonians 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord.
The word "beloved" is used with the force of the passive perfect, meaning, we stand before God, Who is the Lord, as His beloved.
In John 17:23, in the garden the evening of his arrest Jesus prayed to his Father. He said, “…and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.”
How much does God love us? God our Father loves us as He loves Jesus Christ His beloved Son! If only we believed it.
"Beloved" is a term of affectionate endearment. God our Father loves us not because of anything we have done, but simply because of His great love for us.
Ephesians 1:5, 6 WTJ
In love, God determined beforehand for us to have sonship to Himself through Jesus Christ in accordance with the good pleasure of His will unto the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He highly favored us in the beloved one [Jesus Christ].
In love He did this. It was the good pleasure of His will to do it. It was the Father's idea, His will, and He purposed it after His own counsel. It was His desire to do this, not because of anything we have done.
Ephesians 2:4-7 WTJ
4 However, God, Who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive with Christ ( by grace you are saved),
6 and He raised us up together and caused us to sit together in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus
7 so that in the coming ages He might display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
What great love with which He loved us! It will take our Father the ages to come to completely demonstrate the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ.
His great love, His rich mercy, and the exceeding riches of His grace are ours in Christ. We are His beloved. We have His divine favor because we are beloved. Never let anyone tell you otherwise!
I John 3:1 and 2
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
It is easy to read right over, “what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us,” and, "Beloved, now we are the sons of God…." Don’t make that mistake.
You are the Father’s beloved child. He loves you as He loves Jesus Christ. Oh the manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us!
If God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for the world, how much more do you think He loves you after He has paid the price of giving His only begotten Son for you?
Dearly beloved of God, you are now a member of His household; you are His beloved child! Rejoice!
