All Joy and Peace
Dearly beloved of God, is it available to be filled with all joy and peace?
Romans 15:13 WTJ
Now may the God of the hope fill you with all joy and peace in the [right way of] believing so that you may abound in the hope by the power from the Holy Spirit.
As we believe the revelation of God’s Word concerning the realities of our sonship because of the new birth, until the day we will receive our inheritance God will fill us with all joy and peace. We will abound in the hope of the Lord Jesus Christ’s return for the Church to gather us up to meet him in the air by the power from the Holy Spirit.
Romans 5:2 WTJ
Through him [our Lord Jesus Christ] we also by the [right way of] believing have had the access into this grace in which we have stood, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.
What is “the [right way of] believing?” The revelation of the Word of God informs us of what He would have us to believe. This is the right way of believing. Christians are to boast, to rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
All Scripture is God-breathed and it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. See II Timothy 3:16. Without this knowledge from God we would be left to our own devices to discover whatever we chose to believe.
I Timothy 2:4
Who [God] will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God wants all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. That is why He gave us His Word. God’s Word reveals “the knowledge of the truth.”
Man is not the source of the truth, God is, and He has revealed it for our profit by His Word. He has the answers we so desperately need. His Word is our reference for the truth.
For example, God reveals what we are to believe in order to be saved.
Romans 10:9 WTJ
That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and will believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved [delivered],
This is the Word and Will of God concerning our salvation. What does God reveal we are to believe concerning our hope as Christians?
I Thessalonians 4:15-18
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [precede] them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump[et] of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
This is the Word of the LORD Himself. This is the Christian’s hope. Christians should not believe other than what God has revealed.
Even if a person chose to believe otherwise, the person could not make it so. They would hold a false belief.
God is the One that determined our hope in Christ, and He is the One that will bring it to pass by His mighty power as He said He would. When God tells His Son to go get the Church, He will come and accomplish the will of God concerning our glorious hope.
Romans 5:5 WTJ
And the hope does not disgrace [by disappointed expectations] because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts by means of holy spirit, which has been given to us.
If you want all joy and peace believe what God says. He has given us the gift of holy spirit, and sealed us with that spirit for the day of redemption; the day that the Lord Jesus Christ will return to gather us up to meet him in the air. The gift of holy spirit is the down payment concerning our salvation.
The gathering together of the saints is but the opening event of what we hope for today. It will take the Father “the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” See Ephesians 2:7
Rejoice in God’s goodness and His loving kindness to you in Christ Jesus!
“Now may God fill you with all joy and peace in the [right way of] believing so that you may abound in the hope by the power from the Holy Spirit.”
