You are Righteous Now
Dearly beloved of God, in Christ, and by his accomplishments we are righteous now!
II Corinthians 5:21
For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
We are now God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus. We now stand before God our Father clothed with His righteousness by the grace of God.
If you will read Romans 3-8 you will come to realize that Jesus Christ justified us, and there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. In Christ we stand before God without any consciousness of sin, guilt, or shortcomings.
I Corinthians 1:30
But of him [God] are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.
Why would we remain sin-conscious after Jesus Christ’s work of redemption and salvation has been accomplished? This is a trick of the adversary. Instead of being sin-conscious we ought to be son-conscious; conscious of who we are in Christ.
You cannot have confidence in God if you go around constantly doubting who you are in Christ, and condemning yourself for your past sins, failures, and you have devilish doubts about who you are in Christ.
God our Father wants us to believe who He made us in Christ. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus on the basis of his accomplishments. The Father wants us to walk in his accomplishments.
I John 3:20 and 21
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
The only way we gain confidence in God is to believe what He says in His Word about who we are in Christ Jesus, and walk in that reality.
Philippians 3:9
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.
God made us righteous in Christ Jesus by His wonderful grace, mercy, and love toward us. He wants His children to walk in that righteousness before Him.
Christians try all kinds of works to acquire righteousness, such as confessing their sins, doing good works, attending church meetings, keeping the law, etc., and fail to recognize that God made us righteous in Christ Jesus by his accomplishments.
Romans 3:22
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all that believe: for there is no difference;
We acquired the righteousness of God by believing concerning Christ Jesus. He did what God required of him to accomplish our salvation and redemption. He accomplished it, and we are now justified freely by the grace of God through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
You are righteous now! In Christ, you stand in the presence of God clothed in His righteousness, without any sense of sin, guilt, or condemnation. God made you righteous in Christ Jesus; believe it, think like it, speak like it, and walk like the son of God you are.
