The Good Pleasure of His Will

Dearly beloved, since we have confessed Jesus as Lord and believed that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. We are benefactors of the new covenant. We have entered the kingdom of God. We have been baptized with the gift of holy spirit, God has remitted our sins, and He chooses to remember them no more. All of this is by the good pleasure of His will.

In Christ, we are justified, sanctified, redeemed, washed, and we will be glorified together with Christ at his coming. We have access to God by the spirit by the work of Christ. Christ even suffered and died so that we might be healed. All of this was done by the good pleasure of His will.

Now we are members of the body of Christ and are filled with all in all of us. Our Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ. No one was missed and all of us are filled with every spiritual blessing in the realm in which God exists. Our Father determined to freely give us all things with Christ; it was the good pleasure of His will!

We died with Christ, were buried with him, raised with him, made alive with him, ascended and sat down with him in the heavenly realm. We are members of his body. We are united with Christ as closely as a husband and wife become one flesh. We are so closely associated with Christ that God speaks of us as “in Christ”.

When we confessed Jesus as Lord and that God raised him from the dead we became new creations in Christ. Old things passed away; behold, new things have come, and all new things are of God. We are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus on the basis of his good works which God ordained beforehand that we should walk in them. This is the good pleasure of His will for us in Christ.

In Christ, we have an incorruptible inheritance laid up for us in the heavenly realm that will not fade away; an inheritance of eternal life, new bodies like Christ’s glorious body, we will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it will take our Father the ages to come to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ. We will have fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore; no more sickness, sorrow, or death; only glory. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory!

We will be delivered from the clutches of death if it overtakes us before our Lord returns and the living will be changed. Together we will be snatched up in the clouds to meet the Lord Christ Jesus in the air and we will never be separated from him; never! We have the Word of the Lord on it, dear ones; it is the good pleasure of His will.

God provided the Lamb of God for us and He accepted it as an offering on our behalf. He made that same Jesus that they crucified both Lord and Christ. Our Father determined that Christ Jesus would ever live to make intercession for the saints by the good pleasure of His will.

He opened His throne of grace to us in Christ, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. It is the good pleasure of His will for us to approach Him with boldness and confidence.

He wants us to have confidence in Him; the confidence that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and if we know that He hears whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

Our Father dwells in us by His spirit and we have access to Him by that spirit; we can pray always in every prayer making supplication for all saints by the spirit. He not only gave us access, He exhorts us to use it with confidence.

Beloved, it was the good pleasure of His will to do all of this for us in the Christ and He works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. God, by His great grace and love made all of this and so much more, available to us in Christ by the good pleasure of His will.

We are most certainly His dearly beloved and highly favored holy ones in Christ.

Take Him at His Word; believe it. He is both able and willing to perform it in our lives, the same as He performed His Word and saved us by the work of Christ.

Speak the joyful message of the grace of God concerning Jesus Christ, God’s beloved Son, whom He raised from the dead. Do the works that Jesus Christ did when he was on the earth and do even greater works; speak the gospel so that others can be born of the spirit of God and have the same that you have in Christ.

By the mercies of God, present yourself as a living sacrifice, holy, well-pleasing to God; it is only reasonable after the good pleasure of His will that He has shown and continues to show us in Christ.
