Joint Heirs with Christ
Dearly beloved of God, as God raised Jesus Christ from the dead by the working of His mighty power, he ascended into the heavenlies, and God caused him to sit at His right hand, so God, Who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), He raised us up together, and caused us to sit together in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus. Such grace!
Why did God save us, make us alive with Christ, raise us up with him, and seat us with him in the heavenly realm? He did it so that in the coming ages He might display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus!
I Corinthians 2: 9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
What awaits us at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ for us? A far…more… exceeding…eternal…weight…of glory! So, keep your eyes focused on the heavenly realities though they are yet unseen today.
As the Lord Jesus Christ justified us, so we will be glorified with him. We are joint heirs with him.
Let us hold the confession of the hope without wavering; for God is faithful that promised! Be patient; since we have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ we will receive the promise. In a little while he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
The just shall live by believing, and we are of those that have believed unto salvation since we believe regarding the Lord Jesus Christ.
Believing the Word of God gives us assurance and confidence concerning things that are in hope as if they had in fact happened. God’s Word is the divine evidence of those things that are not seen as yet.
The elders obtained a good report by believing the Word of God concerning Christ. They all died not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
They desired a better home, that is a heavenly one: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He has prepared for them a city.
We are the children of God, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. The day is swiftly coming that we will receive our inheritance, and obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. This was God’s purpose in calling us.
What began in grace toward us in Christ will end in the exceeding riches of His grace to us in him. We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. When Christ, our life, will be manifested, then we also will be manifested with him in glory.
After we heard the gospel of our salvation, and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, we were sealed with that holy spirit of promise, which is the down payment of our future inheritance until the day the Lord Jesus Christ returns to redeem us unto the praise of God’s glory.
The Father even gave us proof of these things. The spirit itself bears witness to our inner being of these things; just speak in tongues.
Christ was the first to rise from dead, gain everlasting life, ascend into the heavenly realm, and be seated in the heavenlies. God made us alive with him, raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ.
The day is swiftly approaching that we will be gathered together by the Lord to physically enter the kingdom of God, and receive our inheritance as His children, and as joint heirs with Christ.
With all wisdom and prudence God our Father has made known to us the mystery of His will in accordance with His good pleasure, which He Himself purposed in Christ, so that in the administration of the fullness of the times He might bring all things together under one head in the Christ, that is, the things in heaven and the things upon the earth in the Christ.
God our Father has pulled back the curtain, and given us a glimpse of the supernal glory we will inherit when He sends His Son to gather us up to meet him in the air. It will take Him the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Dearly beloved of God, may the God of the hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you may abound in the hope by the power from the Holy Spirit. Oh, rejoice, and again I say rejoice. We are joint heirs with Christ.
