Jesus Christ Sent the Promise of the Father
Dearly beloved of God, on the Feast of Pentecost following the Lord Jesus Christ's ascension into the heavens, and seating at God’s right side, the Apostle Peter said by revelation, “Repent [which means to change your mind], and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the holy spirit.” Acts 2:38
Before his ascension into heaven Jesus Christ told his apostles that they were to wait for the promise of the Father, which he said they had heard from him.
Jesus Christ sent the promise of the Father he said he would send, which is recorded in Luke 24:49.
Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost [holy spirit] not many days hence.
In Acts 2 we read that the 12 apostles received the gift of holy spirit, and they manifested it by speaking in tongues the wonderful works of God.
It was witnessed by multitudes that were present at the Feast of Pentecost. About five thousand people received the word from Peter, and they were baptized with the holy spirit that day.
Jesus Christ also said that to see and enter the kingdom of God you must be born again. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit [See John 3].
Jesus Christ said, “God is Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” [John 4:24] That day has arrived.
Romans 8: 8 and 9
8 So then they are in the flesh [the old nature] cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that spirit of [from] God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of His.
If you have confessed the Lord Jesus, and believed God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, and have eternal life. You are born again of the spirit from God. You have Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Romans 8:15-18
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption [sonship], whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Not only are we saved and have the hope of eternal life, we have the proof! God’s spirit witnesses to our inner being that we are the children of God, His heirs, and joint heirs with Christ. We have the proof every time we choose to speak in tongues and manifest the spirit we received in the new birth. Rejoice!
I Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
When we speak by the spirit, which is to speak in tongues, we are speaking to God. We are saying Jesus is Lord, and the spirit from God is witnessing to our inner being that we are the children of God, His heirs, and joint heirs with Christ, and we have the hope of eternal life. He says so!
Jesus Christ sent the promise of the Father. The throne of grace is now open to you, so go in and speak to the Father spirit to Spirit whenever you wish.
In Christ we have access to the Father by the spirit we received when we were born again. He delights in our prayers. He is always there for us. He will never leave us, nor forsake us. Go to Him, dearly beloved of God.
