Lesson Two: The Integrity of God’s Word
Dearly beloved of God, the Word of God is the only authority for truth concerning spiritual matters. God does not want us ignorant about spiritual matters so He informs us about them with His Word.
The Word of God reveals the truth about Who God is. It reveals the truth about who Jesus Christ is.
The Word of God reveals the truth about salvation. It reveals the truth about the gift of holy spirit that He has given to His children, and the manifestations of the spirit.
The Word of God reveals the truth about who we are in Christ, and what is ours because of his accomplishments.
God's Word reveals the truth about our hope in Christ. It reveals the truth concerning the state of death, and who and when the dead will be made alive.
II Peter 1:2-4
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus Christ our Lord.
3 According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of Him That hath called us to glory and virtue;
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature....
Dearly beloved of God, the Word of God reveals the truth about all things that pertain unto life and godliness.
I Timothy 2:4
Who [God] would have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God is not holding out on us, He has revealed His Will to all people but not all choose to believe Him.
Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
This is not God’s Will, but people have the freedom to believe Him or reject what He says.
Isn't it amazing that people are willing to trust the advice of their investment counselor, or the advice of their doctor, or their lawyer but reject the wisdom of God Who never lies, and is never wrong about the matters of which He speaks? None of them can say this about their advice.
God’s wisdom is timeless, and He is both able and willing to perform His Word for those who believe Him.
God is Spirit, and He has revealed His Will to us in the senses realm by the revelation of His Word.
If we are to know God, and know His Will we must recognize the integrity of God’s Word. God says precisely what He means, and He means every word that comes out of His mouth. His Word is truth and it is reliable.
How could we know what is available to us from God if He did not reveal it to us by His Word? We can trust the integrity of His Word.
John 10:10
…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
It is God's Will for us to have a more abundant life because of Jesus Christ's accomplishments.
III John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Health and prosperity are God's Will for us, dearly beloved of God.
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
This is the Will of God concerning salvation. God had it written down so that we can read it for ourselves and believe it. He said what He meant and He meant what He said. His Word is trustworthy.
Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
God has blessed each and every one of His children in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.
God wants to open our eyes with the light of His Word so we can understand His Will for our lives. He said what He meant, and He meant what He said.
I Corinthians 12:7
But the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
God meant what He said, and He said what He meant. Every Christian can manifest the spirit for profit withal. The Word of God reveals the Will of God. We can trust the integrity of His Word.
What is the profit in arguing with God, or rejecting His Word? How could rejecting God's Word possibly bring us closer to understanding His Will?
I John 5 :14, 15
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
These are the words of God. He revealed them. He said what He meant, and He meant what He said.
If we are to walk with God we must recognize the integrity of God's Word.
We can trust His Word and have confidence in the information that God reveals to us because He gave these words to us by revelation.
We can trust the integrity of God's Word. He is trustworthy, and His Word is reliable. God stands behind every word that comes out of His mouth. His Word is true.
Dearly beloved of God, take God at His Word. We can rely on the integrity of His Word.
