From Coming Short to Obtaining
Dearly beloved of God, thank God for the grace He has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord. All of us were dead in sins, without God, and without hope. We all came short of the glory of God, but then God showed us His great love with which He loved us. He demonstrated that love to us by extending His grace and mercy to us in Christ.
Salvation is within the grasp of every person. It is not by our earthly birth rite, or by our works, or by our self worthiness; it is ours in Christ by the grace of God. If anyone confesses Jesus as Lord, and believes that God raised him from the dead, they shall be saved.
At that moment they are born again of the spirit from God, and they become a child of God, an heir of God, and a joint heir with Christ. From then on we have the hope of the glory of God.
Since all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, obtaining that hope of the glory of God would be impossible without the accomplished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Savior and our Redeemer. He accomplished what none of us could accomplish for ourselves, and God freely gives us all things with him.
Romans 5:1 and 2
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
We no longer come short of the glory of God, we rejoice in hope of the glory of God! Our hope in Christ is certain, it is sure, and stedfast because it is founded on the Word of God. God is true and reliable, and He has the power to perform all the good pleasure of His Will.
When we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, we were sealed with the promised holy spirit, which is the down payment of our inheritance until the day of redemption. Until then it is Christ in you, the hope of glory!
We no longer come short of the glory of God; it is Christ in you, the hope of glory. God’s assures us that we will obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming.
Colossians 3:2-4
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
When Christ appears we shall appear with him in glory. We will be glorified together with him. We will obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh rejoice! He will transform our mortal, corruptible bodies to be like his glorious body that dies no more..
Romans 8:14-18
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption [sonship], whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
We will be glorified together with Christ! We have the assurance of God’s Word which is true and faithful, and we have the assurance of the manifestation of the spirit of the certainty of our hope of obtaining the glory of God.
Ephesians 2:7
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Thank God for His great love for us, for His tender mercies, for the exceeding riches of His grace in Christ Jesus, and for His tender affection and sweet disposition of loving kindness toward us as God our Father.
From coming short of the glory of God, to being guaranteed that we will obtain it is quite a change is it not? Be full of joy and rejoice until you see the Lord Jesus Christ face to face and you are as he is.
