The Wisdom of God
Dearly beloved of God, we can either believe the information God reveals to us, or we can believe the information we receive from the world. God’s wisdom is reliable and worthy of trust, but the wisdom of this world, not so much.
I Corinthians 1:17-31 speaks of wisdom. Christ did not send the Apostle Paul to baptize, but to proclaim the gospel of God concerning His Son Jesus Christ.
Unto those who are called ones of both Judeans and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
I Corinthians 1:30
But of him [God] are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.
The Apostle Paul did not preach using persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of spirit and of power so that their believing would not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. He spoke the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom that God determined before the ages for our glory.
We received the spirit that is from God so that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God. We do not learn about these things with words of human wisdom, but in words which the Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
God’s wisdom reveals the mystery of God concerning Christ.
Ephesians 1:8b-10
With all wisdom and prudence, He [God] has made known to us the mystery of His Will in accordance with His good pleasure, which He Himself purposed in him [Christ],
So that in the administration of the fullness of times He might bring all things together under one head in the Christ, that is, the things in heaven and the things upon the earth in him [the Christ].
Now that is some wisdom! The wisdom of this age does not compare to God’s wisdom.
Christ Jesus is our peace, who has made both Judeans and Gentiles one. He broke down the wall that divided them by means of his flesh, and he made the law of commandments inactive so that he could create in himself one new man from the two, so making peace. He reconciled both unto God in one body by the cross. Through him we both have access to the Father by one spirit.
Now the Gentiles are joint heirs with the Judeans and joint members of the same body and joint partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus by the gospel. The Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and members of the household of God.
God wants all to see what is the administration of the grace of God, the administration of the mystery, which was hidden from the beginning of the world in God “so that through the Church the multifarious wisdom of God could now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm in accordance with the purpose of the ages, which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Dearly beloved of God, all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in the mystery of God concerning Christ.
It is well worth the time we invest to search out these treasures of God’s wisdom concerning Christ contained in the mystery. You are complete in him who is the head of all principality and power.
God has revealed the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. You will not only be with him when he appears, you will be like him, for you will see him as he is.
God our Father has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. It is all of them in all of the members of his body, the Church. Thank God for His wisdom. Rejoice, and be thankful for His great grace and mercy to us in Christ.
