God Wants You Delivered

Dearly beloved, your prayer requests get to my heart; just think how much more they get to our Heavenly Father’s heart. He promises to do the heavy lifting; we just ask Him to do it and believe that He will according to His Word.

On an occasion when his disciples were unsuccessful in curing a man’s son, Jesus’ disciples asked him why they could not get the job done.

“And Jesus said unto them, ‘Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. Howbeit this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting.’”

The fasting he spoke of is mentioned in Isaiah 58:6. First, He tells them what it is not in verses 1-5, and then in verse 6 He says: “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?”

“Prayer and fasting” is an orientalism, which is a commonly understood expression in the lands and in the times of the writing of God’s Word. Religious people often speak of the fasting mentioned in the first five verses, but the fast that God desires is to loose the bands of wickedness and to undo the heavy burdens on his people; to let the oppressed go free and to break every yoke. The fast that God desires is for us to do His will.

Jesus Christ carried out this fast. He operated the power of God in manifestation to minister deliverance to the man’s son.

I have a framed mustard seed plant on my desk. Its pods hold many, many seeds and each of them is about the size of the point of a pin. The are the smallest of seeds, yet they produce tremendous branches that are greater than all herbs; it becomes a tree.

Our believing is like that mustard seed; when we believe God’s Word tremendous results occur. God is the power behind His Word and when we desire what He desires, we can loose the bands of wickedness and undo heavy burdens and let the oppressed go free and break every yoke. In specific situations, this requires the manifestations of the spirit: word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discerning of spirits, believing, miracles, and gifts of healings.

Our believing is not in us; it is in Gods’ ability and willingness to perform His Word. We trust that He will do as He promised. Our confidence is Him, not ourselves.

Dearly beloved, God’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save; neither is His ear heavy that it cannot hear. We should not be mentally divided, distracted by anxieties; we should cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us. Our cares cause us anxiety, but all of our cares are the object of His care for us. His disposition, His thoughts are to care for us. Give Him all of them, dearly beloved.

The spirit in manifestation helps us when we do not know what to pray for with our understanding. He who searches the hearts knows the thinking of the spirit, because it makes intercession for God’s holy ones in accordance with His will.

The prayer of believing will deliver the weary one and the Lord will raise him up. The energized prayer of the righteous prevails greatly. Pray always with every prayer in the spirit and watch in this very thing with all perseverance for all the saints.

Deliverance is God’s idea, His will, and He will provide it by His power. Be like a grain of a mustard seed, dearly beloved, and watch Him move your mountains. When we take God at His Word nothing He says shall be impossible; He is able and willing to deliver us!
