Fear Not!

Dearly beloved, God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. If these were my words they would hold little authority, but they are not; these are God’s words and He stands behind every one of them; fear not, God is for us!

We do not wrestle against people, even though it may appear as such by our senses; “we wrestle against the authorities, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against spirits of wickedness in the heavenly realm.”

We live in an evil age, an evil generation, an evil day, the day that the wicked rule the earth under the influence of the wicked one; just turn on the news if you question it. We live in turbulent times.

“And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God….”

Even though we wake to tempest tossed seas, God exhorts that He is our sufficiency in all of them. He is the power that works in us. He is our Father who cares for us.

He enables us to think sober thoughts, sound thoughts, His thoughts. He exhorts us to align our thinking with His. He calls this the renewing of our minds. This way of thinking will enable us to believe Him instead of being cowardly.

Dear ones, we are not more than conquerors because of any human resource we may possess, but because of Him that loved us. Christ Jesus our Lord accomplished this reality by his work.

Our Lord overcame sin, sickness, death, devil spirits, the devil himself; everything that we face today, and in him we are more than conquerors.

We have the life-quickening spirit of Christ in us. We have the spirit from God, the spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwelling in us. We are God’s habitations.

We have access to the throne of grace where we can find God’s mercy and His divine favor to help us in our times of need and He exhorts us to use it with boldness and confidence.

Beloved, we are more than conquerors in this evil world.

When the adversary turns the screws of mental pressure on us, when he tries to back us in a corner with distressing situations and our backs are against the wall, when we are opposed and pursued by the wicked ones, when we face lack, when we face dangerous situations that put our life at risk, when he attacks us with cutting words or with the sword itself; nothing can separate us from his love for us, and in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. He is our sufficiency in all these things.

Our Father did not give us the spirit of cowardice; He gave us the spirit of power - His power - the power to overcome by His sufficiency in every situation.

Dearly beloved, line up your thinking with His. Lift up your eyes and look to Him, not at your challenges. Think like David thought when he faced Goliath. Think like Moses thought when he was boxed in between the sea and Egypt’s army. Think in the same manner way that Christ thought; lead every thought to the obedience of Christ.

They trusted God to be their sufficiency and He delivered them according to His word. This same God is our Father and we are His dearly beloved. Stand!

Put on the full armor of God so you are able resist the attacks of the wicked one. Beloved, we will stand at the bema when Christ returns!

Gird up your mind with the truth and clothe yourself with who you are in Christ; you are the righteousness of God in him. Prepare yourself to run with the gospel of peace.

Take the shield of the believing; the believing that is in Christ Jesus our Lord and you will be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the wicked one; be strong in the Lord and in the exerted strength of his ability; he is for us.

Take the helmet of deliverance and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with every prayer in the spirit and stay on watch with all perseverance and making prayer requests for all saints.

You are sufficient in all things, dearly beloved, our sufficiency is of God. Fear not, dear ones, only believe; it shall be as He has said. No word of God is impossible of fulfillment.
