Know Your Purpose

Dearly beloved, as we face a new day, let’s consider the reason for what we are about to do.

What is our purpose or goal? Is it to make a pile of money, or to be a success in the eyes of the world, or to achieve political ends? No. We should live with eternity in view.

It will take our Heavenly Father the ages to come to demonstrate the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ.

This is why He purposed all that He purposed in Christ. This is why He sent His Son to save and redeem us. All of it was to accomplish the purpose of the ages that He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord so that He could bless us with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

In knowing His purpose, we gain insight into ours. We should live in light of His purpose in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our motivation should be to walk in the good pleasure of the Father’s will concerning us.

He sent Christ for us and we are identified with him in his accomplishments. We are equipped with the ability of his spirit within us. We stand before our Father in Christ. We have the standing in Christ that He willed and desired us to have.

We are the children of Almighty God, the One True and Living God so we walk with Him into this new day. Those who are led by the spirit of God are the children of God.

Our aims are not those of this evil world; our purpose it to be a living sacrifice; to live to do the Father's will. It is only reasonable after all our Father has done for us in Christ. We live as dead men raised to life again..

He energizes the holy spirit within each of us as we determine to manifest it for godly profit. Since we live in the spirit, let us walk in the spirit.

We walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself for us. By love we serve one another. We should have the same care for one another and be distracted for one another's needs.

We are to be broken bread for others. Our Father did not call us to become critics like the Pharisees, but His “doulos” that serves the Master and does His will out of love.

We forgive as Christ forgave us. No one must earn our forgiveness; we were not deserving of God’s forgiveness and yet He forgave us in Christ by the riches of His grace. We are to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other as God also forgave you in Christ.

We are to be imitators of God like beloved children. Let him that is without sin cast the first stone. He exhorts us to love our enemies; how much more our brothers and sisters in the family of God? Love without hypocrisy; Jesus Christ died for your sins…. imitate His kindness to those who have wronged you. It is always the spiritually mature one that is the first to forgive.

We walk as more than conquerors because of Christ’s victory over sin, death, and the devil. We face our challenges with the power of God.

We pray always, in every prayer giving thanks to the Father by means of the new birth spirit and we stay on watch for the needs of the saints.

Our Father purposed to freely give us all things with Christ, so we believe Him and walk in what He freely gives us. We are what God says we are in Christ, we have what He says we have in Christ, and we can do what He says we can do by the power of Christ in us.

He decided that we will be glorified together with Christ, so we make it a point of honor to live unto the praise of His glorious grace until he comes. We will all stand before the "bema" of Christ to receive the things we have done, whether worthy of God's praise or not.

Christ gave his all for us, therefore we give such as we are able to him that is in need. We are to have the same care for one another. If we see our brother in need and we withhold our compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in us?

We are to use our resources to care for those who need our help in the body of Christ. How can we say we love God if we do not love our brothers and sisters in Christ? We are not to withhold our good to him that is in need.

We speak the truth in love and are ready always to give an answer to anyone that asks us a reason of the hope that is in and we do so with reverence and obedience.

What is our purpose today? “Father what can I do for you today?” Our purpose is to live in light of our Father’s purpose, dearly beloved, to do His will.
