Time to Wake Up

Dearly beloved, it’s time to wake up! I’m talking about more than getting out of bed and washing your face this morning; it’s time to wake up to what God did in Christ.

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed [the salvation that will come when Christ returns to save us]. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”

“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ….” Beloved, what will you put on today? What will you clothe yourselves with? Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and what he accomplished; put it on in your thinking and living.

Think and walk as who you are in Christ. Be transformed by renewing your mind so you can prove the good pleasure of God’s will in your life. Think soberly; think of yourself and others in the body of Christ as God instructs us to think. Believe the gospel of God concerning Christ, which is the measure God gave us to believe. Believe who God says you are in Christ, dearly beloved.

Walk worthily of the calling to which God called you with humility and meekness, with long-suffering, upholding one another in love. Put forth a diligent effort to keep the unity that comes from the spirit in the uniting bond of peace.

Yep, time to get up and get dressed! Each of us who believed the gospel of God concerning Christ have received the gift of holy spirit and everything associated with it.

Each of us have the same spirit, the new birth spirit.
We are members of the same body; the body of Christ.
We only have one hope of our calling; that we will be with and like Christ forever; we will live together with him when he returns to gather his church together.
God gave all of us the same measure to believe; the gospel of God concerning Christ.
We only have one Lord; the Lord Jesus Christ.
We were all baptized in his accomplishments.
God is our Father and He is the only God we need; worship Him in spirit and truth. Take Him at His Word; believe what He says, beloved.

Our Father has not withheld any good thing from us; He freely gave us all things with Christ.

We are reconciled, justified from the claims of sin and death – we are forgiven in Christ. There is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ. In Christ, we are the righteousness of God. He sanctified us in Christ. Dearly beloved, we will be glorified together with Christ!

What do we have that we did not receive? Nothing! All of it is ours by the grace of God. He gave it all to us in Christ; he did the work to accomplish these things. All we did was believe what God said concerning him and he freely gave us all things with Christ. We received them by His grace to us…so get dressed, dearly beloved; it’s time to wake up. It’s all true so live more abundantly today.
