Walk on Resurrection Ground

Let’s talk about identification, dearly beloved. The first man, Adam, was the head of the human race and by nature we were identified with him. We identified with Adam in his one sin and in his condemnation of death. All “in Adam” come under the reign of sin and death; we were born in sin.

By the grace of God, God provided a new head, Christ. He is the head of the race of redeemed men that he reconciled to God by his one righteous act.

As all in Adam were sold under sin by him, all in the last Adam, Christ, were justified from sin by his one righteous act. In Christ we are righteous before God.

We did nothing that caused us to come under the reign of sin and death, we were born that way. Neither did we do anything that justified us from sin’s reign over us. The second man, Jesus Christ, did the required work.

“Much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.”

“For as by one man’s disobedience [Adam’s] many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One [the one man Jesus Christ] shall many be made righteous.”

“That as sin hath reigned unto death [that was the result of Adam’s work], even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

All in Adam were dead in sin. All in Christ are dead to sin.

In Adam, we all came under the condemnation. For all in Christ Jesus, there is no more condemnation.

All in Adam died spiritually. All in Christ received abundance of grace and the free gift righteousness and shall reign in life.

As we were associated with Adam as the head of the human race, we are associated with Christ as the head of the race of redeemed men.

We are today delivered from the guilt and condemnation of sin, and when Christ returns he will transform these mortal bodies of humiliation to be like his glorious body. Only then will we experience our full identification with Christ.

We received the promised holy spirit as the down payment of our inheritance until he comes. As death no longer has dominion over Christ, it no longer reigns over us either, for we are “in him” and we share in his accomplishments; we are as he is. We not only live in Christ, in him we reign in life.

If we are to reign in life, we must know and believe what Christ alone has done, and our identification with him by God's grace to us..

Ignorance of Christ’s conquest over sin and death and our identification with him in this conquest robs believers of reigning in life. Our Father wants us to, “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know….”

In Philippians he prayed, “…that your love abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment (The Greek word “aesthesis”, meaning perceptive awareness).

Believing comes by hearing the Word of God. “You have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him.” Reigning in life is the result of the work of Jesus Christ and we must know and believe it.

We were crucified with Christ as surely as if we had been crucified on a cross next to him as the other four were. As he died to sin, we died to sin.

As Christ arose from the dead and was made alive again, so in him, we arose and received newness of life. In Christ we stand on resurrection ground.

As he ascended into the heavenly realm and sat down at God’s right hand, in him we were raised and were made to sit together with him.

As Christ was glorified, we will be glorified with him when he returns to gather us unto him in the air.

Knowing these truths, believe them, walk in your identification with him, and reign in life. It is all entirely dependent upon him and his work; by the grace of God, we are called into the fellowship, the communion, the full sharing of His Son Jesus Christ.

Walk out on resurrection ground, dearly beloved.
