The Breakfast of Champions

Good morning, dearly beloved. For breakfast this morning, let’s have some of the breakfast of champions; some Ephesians truths.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” Ephesians 1:3

How did God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ bless us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm? He did it in Christ.

“That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:” Ephesians 1:10

In the fullness of times administration, how will God gather all things together in heaven and earth under one head? He will do it in Christ.

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us–ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places….” Ephesians 1:19 and 20

The exceeding greatness of God’s power to us as His children is the same power that He exercised in Christ when He raised him from the dead and seated him at His right hand in the heavenlies. Our participation in these marvelous realities is entirely by the grace of God.

“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” Ephesians 2:5

How did God make us alive when we were dead in sins? He did it together with Christ. Our salvation is completely by the work of Christ and by the grace of God.

“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Ephesians 2:6

God raised Christ from the dead and seated him at His right hand in the heavenly realm by the working of His mighty power, and likewise, He raised us up and seated us together with him in the heavenly realm by the exceeding greatness of His power.

“That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:7

This verse expresses God’s purpose; it tells us why God did this. The “ages to come” depend on the glorified one, Christ Jesus. It will take eternity for our Father to demonstrate the complete reality of the exceeding riches of His grace to us in Christ Jesus. The ages to come will be the demonstration of our Father’s kindness towards us.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto [epi: upon, on the basis of] good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 AV

God created us in Christ Jesus. We are a new creation; a new man. We are His handiwork. God quickened us together with him and raised us up together with him and made us sit with him in the heavenlies. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. This was God's doing in Christ Jesus, not ours. It is by His work, not ours. God freely gives all of it to us with Christ by His wonderful grace.

All that God planned for us was in Christ, dearly beloved.

We stand in Christ Jesus because of an act of God. Our standing in Christ Jesus was God’s idea. It was the result of His wisdom.

Our Heavenly Father has most certainly blessed us in Christ
exceeding above all that we could ask or think. He blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in him.

Man oh man, that's the breakfast of champions!
