What Has God Prepared for Us?
Dearly beloved of God, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.” I Corinthians 2:9
It would be impossible to know the things that He has prepared for them that love Him had He not revealed them.
2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit [God is Spirit, and He revealed the information that He communicated]: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man [one’s soul life] which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world [which is soul life], but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
I could not possibly know what is in your heart, neither could you know what is in mine unless I revealed it to you. The same is true of God. We could not possibly know what is in His heart concerning us unless He reveals it, and He did reveal it. He revealed this information to us so that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
If you want to know some of what He has freely given us, open His Word, and read Romans 3:21-8:39, and Ephesians 1-3, and I Thessalonians 4:13-18 for starters.
2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but [ellipsis: words] which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual [words].
God communicated His wisdom to us with words that He revealed. He communicated these spiritual realities with words that He originated.
We study books filled with words on every subject imaginable because people communicate with words. If we are to know the things that God has freely given us, we will have to study His Word. He originated these words.
God wants us to know the things that are freely given to us by Him. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ so that we might be saved by the grace of God. He sent him to justify us so that we could have the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace, which He has abounded to us. He blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ. He freely gave us all things with His Son. He gave us the gift of holy spirit. In Christ we have access to the Father by the spirit we received in the new birth. God hears our prayers, and He wants us to be confident that He answers our petitions. In His sight we are dearly beloved children, and we are highly favored. God, our Father, determined that we will obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ; we are joint heirs of the inheritance with Christ. He wants us to know that in Christ Jesus our Lord we have the victory over sin and death.
These are only a few of the things that God has prepared for us, dearly beloved of God. He has communicated what He has prepared for His children by His Word.
All Scripture is God-breathed, and it is profitable. God revealed His Word so that we can know Him, and know the good pleasure of His Will toward us in Christ Jesus. He wants us to know what He has prepared for us in Christ.
God our Father has revealed great and precious promises to us by His Word. The right way of believing comes by hearing, by hearing the Word of God.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.” Read them, and enjoy.
