New Things Have Come
Dearly beloved of God, since God made Jesus both Lord and Christ, and He raised him out from among all the dead people, new things have come! What does the Word of God reveal concerning these new things? Let’s consider a few of them.
We are saved by the grace of God by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing God raised him from the dead. See Romans 10:9 and Ephesians 2:4-10.
Before Jesus Christ accomplished the will of God making salvation available to every person, we were dead in sin, ungodly, enemies of God, and headed toward the wrath of God. Gentiles were strangers from the covenants of promise that God made with Israel, having no hope, and being without God in the world. See Romans 5 and Ephesians 2:11 and 12. We all came under the reign of sin and death. The law made all men guilty before God.
Christ was the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes regarding him. Romans 10:4
Jesus Christ is the mediator of a new covenant. Hebrews 9:15
The new covenant is of the spirit. See I Corinthians 3, and Hebrews 8, 9, 10. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus made us free from the law of sin and death. See Romans 8:1-4.
God revealed what was before a mystery hid in God. He revealed the administration of the grace of God, the administration of the mystery. In this current administration of God’s dealing with people, the Gentiles are joint heirs with the Judeans, they are of the same body [the body of Christ which is the Church,] and are joint partakers of what was promised in Christ Jesus by the gospel. See Ephesians 3:2-11.
Christ Jesus abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances so that he could create in himself one new man from the two, the Judeans and the Gentiles, so making peace. Ephesians 2:15
Christ Jesus reconciled both Judeans and Gentiles unto God in one body by means of the cross, having slain the enmity by it. Ephesians 2:16
He came and proclaimed the gospel regarding peace to both the Judeans and the Gentiles because through him we both have access to the Father by one spirit. Ephesians 17 and 18
In Christ and by his accomplishments we are fellowcitizens with the saints and members of the household of God. In Christ, the entire building being framed together grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord. In him, we also are built together for God’s dwelling place by the spirit. See Ephesians 2:19-22.
God put all things under Christ’s feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the Church, which is his body, the fulness of him that fills all in all. Ephesians 1:22 and 23. He filled all of us with all that Christ accomplished. He blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. See Ephesians 1:3.
We are complete in Christ Jesus, who is the head of all principality and power. Colossians 2:10
Since we believed in Christ we have put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24
We have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision, nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all and in all. See Colossians 3:10 and 11 In the new man, Christ is all and in all of us!
We are all the children of God by believing in Christ Jesus, and in this body of believers there are no distinctions between Judeans and Gentiles, bond or free, male, or female: for we are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3: 26-28
Dearly beloved of God, new things have come, and all of the new things are from God. We cannot possibly cover all of them here.
In Christ and by his accomplishments, we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:24
We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace, which He abounded toward us. Ephesians 1:7 and 8a
We are saved from the wrath of God through him. He reconciled us to God. We have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. We have access into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. See Romans 5.
As sin reigned unto death, even so now grace reigns through God’s justness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21
The law of the spirit, that is to say life in Christ Jesus, made me free from the law of sin and death. There is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 and 2
God no longer considers us to be in the flesh, but in the spirit since the spirit from God dwells in us. The spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in us See Romans 8:8-11.
We will obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will glorified with him. See Romans 8:30, Colossians 3:4, and II Thessalonians 2:13. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory! Colossians 1:27
It will take God the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:7
Rejoice, and thank God for all of the new things that God has freely given us with His Son. These new things are quite different from our status before the Lord Jesus Christ gave his life to save us, aren't they?
These are only some of the new things God has freely given us with Christ. Rejoice for His great grace and mercy to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.
