Turn Your Eyes Upon the Lord Jesus Christ
Dearly beloved of God, turn your eyes upon the Lord Jesus Christ and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace. What began for us in grace will end in glory when he returns to gather us up to meet him in the air. We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The sufferings of this present time are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed to us! Our light affliction is momentary, but it works for us a far more exceeding and eternal heavy weight of glory. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory, dearly beloved!
Our hope of glory is based on the foundation of God’s Word, and the accomplishments of the Lord Jesus Christ.
If God had not purposed, willed, and desired for us to acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ we would have nothing more than a life of disappointing misery, and a cold home in the grave awaiting us, but dearly beloved, He has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace. Jesus Christ came so that we could have life, and have it more abundantly.
All of us have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, but we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, and we were sealed with the holy spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the day of redemption. We have the hope of acquiring the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is quite a change, is it not?
When the Lord Jesus Christ returns to gather us up to him in the air he will redeem us from death itself if it has overtaken us, and we will die no more. Our natural bodies will corrupt, but they will be raised in incorruption. They are sown in dishonor, but they will be raised in glory. They are sown in weakness, but they will be raised in power.
The Lord Jesus Christ will change our vile body so that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body according to the working whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself. We will be conformed to the image of the Son of God, and we will be glorified with him, dearly beloved.
God wants us to have the eyes of our understanding enlightened so we may know the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
God will execute our hope in Christ by the exceeding greatness of His power, the same power that He wrought in Christ when He raised him from the dead, and set him at His own right hand in the heavenlies.
Being justified by the accomplishments of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have peace with God today, by whom we have access by believing into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Why would anyone want to be occupied with the evil of this age when we could be filling our minds with the grace and glory that is ours in Christ Jesus? God our Father wants us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, not pudden-heads conformed to this evil age.
Don’t waste your time being concerned with the things of this evil age. Be concerned about Christ; he is the wisdom of God and the power of God unto salvation.
The Lord Jesus Christ will subdue every enemy when he returns to the earth, and he reigns in the Day of the Lord. He is the only man capable of dealing with the evil one himself. God has committed all judgement unto him.
If you want to change the world get someone born again, and teach them about their sonship rights, their privileges as a child of God, and the power that is theirs in the new birth. Teach them about the grace and the glory that is theirs in Christ. All else pales in comparison to this.
Dearly beloved, get your eyes off of this evil age, and turn your eyes upon the Lord Jesus Christ and his accomplishments. Look into the Word of truth so that you can know the grace that God has shown us in Christ, and the hope of glory that is reserved for us in heaven.
We live in the administration of the grace of God, but there are ages to come after this one, dearly beloved, and it will take God our Father the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus. We have His Word on it.
Walk worthy of God Who has called us unto His kingdom and glory.
We entered the kingdom of God the moment we were born again of the spirit from God, and we have the proof that we have entered every time we manifest the spirit of sonship by speaking in tongues. God’s spirit witnesses to our inner being that we are the children of God, and His heirs, and joint heirs with Christ. We have a share in the coming glory, dearly beloved; we have the proof!
God has delivered us from the power of darkness, and He transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son. This is an accomplished reality. When the Lord Jesus Christ returns for the Church, he will physically transfer us into the kingdom of God. This is a future reality.
Yes, dearly beloved of God, turn your eyes upon the Lord Jesus Christ and his accomplishments, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
