God’s Will is Only Good Toward Us
Dearly beloved, “We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.”
It does not matter if we are talking about calling us in Christ, or of conforming us to the image of His Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brethren, or of justifying us, or of glorifying us together with Christ; our Father only works for our good.
Does He work for our good concerning our health? Absolutely. He designed the body to heal. He sent His Word to heal us. He sent His Son to pay the price for our healing. He tells us to pray for the sick so they might be healed. He gave us the manifestation of the spirit of gifts of healings by which we can minister deliverance to people. He instituted communion so that we can remember what Jesus Christ accomplished for us concerning our forgiveness and healing. He is our delivering God.
What is too hard for God our Father? Nothing! There are no incurable diseases with Him. What is His Word to us concerning healing?
Psalm 103:3
Who [God] forgiveth all thine iniquities; who heals all they diseases.
Dearly beloved, God said what He meant, and He means what He says. Healing is one of the accomplishments of Jesus Christ. Long before God sent His Son, He had Isaiah give this revelation.
Isaiah 53:5
But, he [Jesus Christ] was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
After Jesus Christ paid for our sins and sicknesses God had the Apostle Peter write this to God's people.
I Peter 2:24
Who his own self [Jesus Christ] bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah looked forward to what Jesus Christ would accomplish; Peter looked back at his accomplishments. As he bare our sins, so he bare our sicknesses.
Yes, we were healed by the stripes that were laid on Jesus Christ on our account.
Whether it is a miracle of healing, or a recovery, or a cause must be removed to heal, or by imparting what is lacking, or by reconciling, we were healed by the stripes laid on Jesus Christ. God our Father always works for our good in everything, dearly beloved.
The captivity of sickness is not God’s will. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy spirit and with power; he went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. He always did His Father’s will, and His will is deliverance.
Jesus Christ never touched anyone and said, “Be sick you lousy sinner.” He never made anyone sick, did he? No, but in record after record we read that he healed people, and delivered them from the oppression of the devil.
Matthew 8:16 and 17
When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirit with His word, and healed all that were sick: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Matthew 12:22
Then was brought unto Him one possessed with a devil, bling, and dumb: and He healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Matthew 15:30
And great multitudes came unto Him, having with them those who were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and He healed them:
Psalm 107:19-21
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men.
The Word of God reveals God’s will to us; don’t settle for less. He is able and willing to do what He says He will do. Go to Him with your whole heart, and believe what He says.
God does not bring sickness on people; the devil does. If you want to read about the goodness of God and the badness of the devil then read the first two chapters of Job. God turned Job’s captivity, and He healed Job, both mentally and physically.
Dearly beloved, it does matter if it is a bad cold, or a lengthy illness, whether the sickness is mild, or life threatening, whether science says it is curable, or that it is incurable, whether it is mental, or physical, or spiritual healing that is needed; God’s will is deliverance for you. He is both able and willing to deliver you.
When the Lord Jesus Christ returns we will receive the redemption of our bodies, and be raised having glorious bodies like Christ’s glorious body that dies no more. Now that will be healing personified! Rejoice!
Go to God our Father with your whole heart, and ask Him to deliver you in the name of Jesus Christ, and by his accomplishments. Take God at His Word, and expect to receive His deliverance in your life. He is that good, dearly beloved!
