New Things Have Come and More are to Come
Dearly beloved of God, Happy New Year, but I have even better news for you.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus.
The old things passed away. Behold, new things have come, and all of the new things are from God, Who reconciled us to Himself through Christ. God made Jesus Christ, who did not know sin, to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
We are beneficiaries of these new things because of the grace of God shown to us in Christ. All of the new things are the result of Christ’s accomplishments, not because of anything we have done.
Christ is the mediator of the new covenant. The old covenant was a covenant made with Israel, which pertained to the flesh.
By the grace of God both Judeans and Gentiles are partakers of the new covenant, which is not of the oldness of the letter, but of the spirit.
In this new covenant people from both Judeans and Gentiles are one new man.
In Christ, the one new man has access to the Father by one spirit, the new birth spirit, which is the spirit of sonship.
Christ became a life-giving spirit, Christ in you, the hope of glory. In the new man Christ is all in all.
The people who were previously Judeans and Gentiles in the flesh, are now one new man, and members of the body of Christ, which is the Church. All of the members of this body are filled with all of Christ’s accomplishments. We are joint heirs and joint members of the same body and joint partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus by the gospel.
Dearly beloved, in Christ, God our Father blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. We are complete in Christ, filled with all in all of us.
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God, but we are not in the flesh but in the spirit since the spirit from God dwells in us.
If anyone does not have the spirit, that is to say Christ, he does not belong to him, but since Christ dwells in us, the old nature is indeed dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of justness.
We have the spirit from Him Who raised Jesus from the dead dwelling in us! In Christ we are being built together for a habitation of God through the spirit.
We have a new nature once we are born again, that of the new birth spirit. The new spirit nature gives us new spiritual ability, and we can manifest it for godly profit. We have nine manifestations of the spirit.
We have all the rights, privileges, and ability as the children of God.
Dearly beloved, in Christ and by his work he delivered us from the reign of sin and death. We have new spirit life, and that new life is eternal.
In Christ we were delivered from the law, and now we have the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
The law made us guilty before God, but there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. We were justified by the work of Christ.
In Christ, and by his accomplishments we are the children of God, God’s heirs, and joint heirs with Christ.
In Christ we are accepted and highly favored in the sight of God our Father. We are holy and without blame before Him, and we are unimpeachable in His sight.
In Christ, and by his accomplishments we have been translated into the kingdom of God’s beloved Son. He washed us, sanctified, justified, and reconciled us to God. He delivered us from the power of darkness.
In Christ we have redemption and forgiveness of sins.
We died with Christ, were buried with him, were made alive with him, were raised with him, seated together in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus, and we will be glorified with him.
There are more new things to come, dearly beloved.
We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We were sealed with the holy spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until Christ returns to gather us up to him.
We will receive glorious new bodies like his glorious body, we will physically enter the kingdom of God, and we have the certainty that we will have a home in the new heaven and new earth that is to come.
It will take our Father the ages to come to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
These are a few of the new things that have come, dearly beloved. Rejoice, and again I say rejoice!
Who knows, Christ Jesus the Lord could come today; wouldn't that make for a truly great new year?
