The End of the Citizenship Debate

Dearly beloved, we are another day closer to the return of Christ than when we first believed. We are going home!

Philippians 3:20 and 21: For our conversation [citizenship] is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Does God’s Word teach us that we are to look for death as our entrance into glory? No; we are to look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. When he comes he will change our body of humiliation so that it will be conformed to be like his glorious body.

Where is our citizenship? We are the citizens of the heavenly realm; the kingdom of God's beloved Son. Christ provided us with an entrance to the kingdom of God through his accomplishments. There is no debate about it!

In Christ, we are no longer strangers and foreigners but joint-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God. He provided us access by the birth from above, by the spirit of sonship. Now we are citizens of the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 1:3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

In Christ, God our Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm: every single last one of them. We are complete in Christ who is the head over all principality and power. We are members of his body; filled with all in all of us.

Romans 8: 29 Weymouth: For those whom He has known beforehand He has also pre-destined to bear the likeness of His Son, that He might be the Eldest in a vast family of brothers;

In the kingdom of His beloved Son, God has conformed us to the image of His Son. We are identified with Christ today, and when we see him we shall be as he is.

We are joint-citizens, and joint-partakers of the same body, the body of Christ, and joint-partakers of His promise in Christ, dearly beloved! Our Father has gone to extraordinary lengths to not only save us, and give us a glorious hope; He conformed us to the image of his Son! We are as he is, and we will be like him when we see him next.

II Thessalonians 2:14: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This was the purpose of the ages that He purposed in Christ.

Colossians 3:4: When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Ephesians 2:7: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

It will take our Father “the ages to come” – eternity – to completely demonstrate the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us through Christ Jesus.

Not only is there no condemnation to us from God; not only is there nothing that can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord; our Father shall freely give us all things with Christ!

Set your affection on things above dearly beloved; he is coming! You have entrance, access, standing, citizenship, rights, and privileges in the kingdom of His beloved Son. You have power from on high by which he enabled you to do the works he did and greater.

In Christ, you are a citizen of the heavenly realm – the kingdom of His beloved Son, the kingdom of God!

Our Father has raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus so we can partake of the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus! You are a joint-heir with Christ in his kingdom!

Beloved, rejoice forevermore; the citizenship debate has been settled once and for all in Christ! If you are in Christ, you are a citizen now and forevermore!
