Slaves of a Tyrant or Freemen?

Dearly beloved, it is a shame that we live in a free country and yet so many live in bondage, slaves to the tyrant, Ignorance. God’s people are destroyed by him.

In a realm that so much is available concerning health care, blindness still appears to be an ever present concern. The “so-called” god of this world has blinded the thinking processes of them that believe not, if perhaps the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

God is willing to give His spirit to people so they can receive spiritual wisdom and revelation knowledge from Him. He gave us His spirit and His Word to profit us. He wants to open the eyes of our understanding so that we know the good pleasure of His will in Christ. If we stay ignorant after He has revealed His will to us, it isn’t His fault.

Well beloved, “Blessed are your eyes which see the things that you see. For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.” God not only gave us eyes that can see so that we can understand, He gave us the ability to hear His voice! There isn’t a good reason to stay incapacitated after He has made vision and hearing available concerning spiritual matters; we have great “health care” in Christ.

Another thing, beloved, have you ever read the Preamble to the Constitution? “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

And yet beloved, we are asked by politicians to choose between political parties that divide us as citizens to the right and to the left of the Constitution? Why not stand together as citizens on the truth of the Constitution, united in order to form a more perfect union?

The same is true of our spiritual freedom. Instead of Christ being the Head over all things to the church, which is His body, we are asked to divide into various man-made groups who are divided from the truth that is in Jesus.

A denomination by definition is a body of unbelief; one group believes this about God, and another believes something quite different while all profess to be Christian. Why not believe what God revealed to holy men from God who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit? God’s Word did not come by the will of man; it came by His will, and none of it is of one’s own interpretation.

As members of the body of Christ we should together stand on the truth of God’s Word, the Scriptures; the truth makes us the Lord’s freemen. Since Christ gave us this newness of life by sacrificing his life for us, we should serve in the newness of the spirit, and in the love of God, walking in the lordship of Jesus Christ. He alone is the head of this body.

Another thing, dearly beloved; turn on the news; it appears to be subjective depending on the channel you watch. This results from a press that interprets events through the lens of their own biases, their own preconceived ideas, instead of reporting the news reality they are charged to report.

This is a concern when it comes to the news about spiritual matters, also. If we as Christians make up our minds as to what we think is truth before we study to show ourselves approved unto God, as workmen who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, we may not believe what God would have us believe.

We should check our preconceived ideas at the door and study the God-breathed scriptures to learn what He says. His Word is truth. As we learn the revelation truth of His Word, we may have to change our minds so that we believe what He says. He does not have to change His mind to agree with our predetermined opinions and doctrinal positions.

The Lord told the Pharisees and scribes, “Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.’ For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things you do.” And He said unto them, “Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.” They made the word of God of none effect by their traditions and man-made beliefs; let’s not make the same mistake.

Another day and more issues arise with it, dearly beloved, but we don’t have to be in bondage to the tyrant, Ignorance, and live as his slaves: we are Christ’s free citizens of the heavenly realm, children of the Living and True God, and joint-heirs with Christ.

We should not walk in the darkness of lies or twisted half-truths, but in the light as children of light. We should walk accurately, not as fools, but as wise, understanding the will of the Lord that saved us.

We were delivered from the tyrant Ignorance; we are no longer his slaves. Walk as the Lord’s freemen, dearly beloved, and stand on the truth that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
