Get Your “But” out of God

Dearly beloved, have you ever spoken to someone about what God made available to them in Christ Jesus our Lord, only to have them reply, “Yes, but…”? They probably worshiped at the altar of a lesser god, and do not know the goodness of our God. Folks need to get their “but” out of God.

Our God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Most Powerful God, God Almighty, the One True and Living God, the God who becomes what He will become, the God that became the God of the children of Israel, the God who is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ; that God is our God and He says that He is our Father!

Think of how able He is! Think of the wisdom and power it took to create the heavens and the earth, and the laws that He put in place for its seamless operation, that perpetually work to preserve it for us. He is unlimited in wisdom and power!

Review the history of His people and think of how He miraculously delivered them time and again against all odds, and then tell me, “Yes, but…” Folks need to get their “but” out of God.

Why would we not take Him at His Word? Those who know His name should put their trust in Him. He is Who He says He is, and He can do what He says He can do: end of story. To settle for less than He makes available to us is indeed foolish.

Am I missing something here, beloved; help me out. What is too hard for Him? People need to get their “but” out of God and take Him at His Word!

He says that His Word is true and faithful. He says that it is purified seven times, it is tried and perfect, it is reliable; it is as good as the God who gave it to holy men of God! His Word is God-breathed, and so very profitable.

We should not read what He says and then interject our “but” into it. He is able and willing to deliver us as He has proved time and time again throughout history. He saves to the uttermost.

You are not the exception to the rule; you are His dearly beloved and highly favored ones in Christ! How do I know that? He says so!

Our God and Father does not stand in the way of our deliverance; He is the Deliverer! Deliverance is His will for us. He is our sufficiency in all things, and liberally supplies us with all things to enjoy. He freely gives us all things with Christ. If we will get our “but” out of God, and not limit the Unlimited One we will see His deliverance, dearly beloved.

He does not discriminate between people because of anything in the flesh; not because of their race, creed, gender, politics, nationality, financial status; He does not play favorites and respect one person above another. He is not a respecter of persons; He respects anyone that will take Him at His Word and believe what He says.

At one time we may have worshiped at the alter of a lesser god, also, but dearly beloved, now the Most Powerful God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One True and Living God is our God, our Father. His Word is as good as He is, and He is both able and willing to perform it as He promised.

Our God is Who He says He is; not who someone else might say He is. He is Light, not darkness. He is the God of love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, kindness, the God of all comfort, the God of the hope that we have in Christ Jesus.

He revealed that He is the Lord that heals us, that sees us and provides for our every need, the Lord our canopy that covers us with His protective care, the Lord of hosts who fights for us, the Lord our righteousness, the Lord our Shepherd, the God of heaven and earth! Our God is the One True and Living God, the Everlasting King; He is our Father!

This God is our God. He sees us, and He hears our prayers. He says that we should be confident that if know that He hears us, we should know that we have the petitions that we have desired of Him.

Dear little ones, if folks would get their ” buts” out of God and take Him at His Word, they could see what we see: the good pleasure of His will done in their lives as it has been done in ours. In everything our God works for good with those who love Him. He is faithful that promised, dearly beloved; we just need to get our “but” out of God.
