The Coming Salvation
Dearly beloved of God, the Father wants us to know the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power according to the working of His mighty power which He energized in the Christ when He raised him from the dead and caused him to sit at His right side in the heavenly realm.
By that same exceeding great power he made us alive with Christ, and He raised us up together, and caused us to sit together in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
The purpose of the ages that God accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord is indeed glorious, and all of it is ours by the accomplishments of Jesus Christ, and by grace of God toward us in him.
I Corinthians 2:9 and 10
But as it is written, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.”
But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea the deep things of God.
Dearly beloved, we have received the spirit which is from God so that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Rejoice!
When the Lord Jesus Christ returns to gather us together up to meet him in the air, he will first raise the dead in Christ, and then we who are living will be snatched up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Today we who have the first fruit of the spirit groan within ourselves, waiting for the inheritance of sonship, that is, the redemption of our body.
When the Lord Jesus Christ comes he will transform these bodies of humiliation so that they are like his glorious body. We will be conformed to his image. We will not only be with him forever, we will be like him.
The dead in Christ will be raised with incorruptibility, in glory, and in power. We will no longer be subject to death, or pain, or sorrow. We will be raised with a body of the spirit. As we have worn the image of the one made with earth, so we shall also wear the image of the heavenly one.
God raised Christ from the dead, and he dies no more. He ascended into heaven in his glorious body, and he lives there unto this day. This gives us an indication of the glory and power of the bodies we will have when he transforms us to be like him.
God called us to acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!
This is the purpose of His calling. We are joint heirs with him. It will take Him the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
When Christ, who is our life shall appear, then you also will appear with him in glory, dearly beloved.
He Who worked out this very thing for us is God, Who gave us the earnest of the spirit. The new birth spirit is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. He sealed us with the holy spirit to this end.
We walk by believing, not by sight. We consider it an honor to be well pleasing to him as we walk with Him. Our labor in the Lord is not in vain. Everyone will receive his own reward according to his own labor. When Christ returns then every man shall have praise from God. I don’t know about you, but He had me when He said I was saved.
This is only a glimpse of our hope in Christ. The ages to come lie beyond the gathering together. We will live in the new heavens and the new earth when God makes all things new again. God has a lot of loving kindness and tender mercies prepared for those who love Him, doesn’t He?
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you.
The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us. It will be a far more exceeding and eternal heavy weight of glory.
When the Lord Jesus Christ appears we will receive praise, and honor, and glory. We will receive the outcome of our believing, even our coming salvation, dearly beloved of God.
