God’s Kindness to Us in Christ
Dearly beloved of God, by the same exceeding great power that God exerted to raise Christ from the dead, He made us alive with Christ, raised us up with him, and made us sit together with him in the heavenlies. He blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ. Why did God do this?
Ephesians 2:7
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
In the coming ages the Father will display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
On the day of redemption the Lord Jesus Christ will transform these vile bodies so that they are like his glorious body. We will be conformed to the image of God’s Son, and be as he is. He will give us life like the life he has. We will die no more.
We are heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. We will be glorified with him, dearly beloved. We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 2:9 and 10
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
This revelation was previously a mystery, a secret hidden in God, but now He has revealed the things which God has prepared for them that love him. He has revealed who we now are in Christ, and the riches of the glory of this mystery which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Our hope in Christ makes the light affliction of today insignificant compared to the far more exceeding and eternal heavy weight of glory that shall be revealed in us.
When Christ comes the next time, it will not be to bear our sin, but to bring the reality of salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Philippians 1: 6
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
The Father freely gives us all things with His beloved Son. All of it is ours by the grace of God, and by His grace alone, and He will bring it to completion.
In Christ, and by his accomplishments we are the heirs of salvation. On the day of redemption God will send His Son to redeem us. He will give us eternal life, new bodies like Christ’s glorious body, and we will obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will see God make all things new again, including the new heavens and new earth.
God will dwell with us, and we shall be His people. God Himself shall be with us, and be our God, and He shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things will have passed away.
God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ love us. God’s only begotten Son gave His life for us. We can be certain that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to its completion until the day of Jesus Christ.
We can rejoice daily in our hope of seeing Christ Jesus our Lord face to face, and being transformed to be like him. Just think, when we see him, as glorious as that will be, it will only be the opening event of the ages to come. There is much more of the exceeding riches of His grace that He has not revealed about the ages to come, and His kindness to us.
Dearly beloved, walk in the glorious light of the hope of our Lord’s return to save and redeem us. Everyone that has this hope in him purifies himself even as he is pure. Christ is coming, and we will live in the Father’s kindness toward us in Christ forever and ever!
