His Work Was Enough

Dearly beloved, you’re are the righteousness of God in Christ; it is not by your works but by his. It is by grace that you are saved through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. That gift of God’s grace is not of your works, but of his. It is the gift of God. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus upon the basis of his good works, which God ordained that we should walk in them. He accomplished it all.

When we read Ephesians chapters one through three, our works are no where to be found; only Christ and his work. Chapter four begins with how we are to walk worthy of the calling in which we are called.

Christ did all the work to save and redeem us; to make us the sons of God. Our standing before God is in Christ, and in his accomplished work.

We confessed Jesus as Lord and believed that God raised him from the dead; that’s all we did. Jesus Christ gave his life for ours and paid our penalty for sin. Our standing before God is in him and by his work – not ours.

How are we to walk now? We are to endeavor to keep the unity of the spirit he made. Ephesians 4 :3 calls it the unity of the spirit and we are to keep it in the uniting bond of peace.

Who made us the body of Christ? Did we do the work to make this body? No, Christ did the work.

Who made the spirit available once again? Did we do the work to make the power from on high in the new birth available?

Who purposed, planned, desired, and willed for the hope of our calling? Is this because of our works or of Christ’s?

Who is our Lord? Are we lord or is Jesus, who God made both Lord and Christ?

Who is our believing in? Is it in our ability, or is it in Jesus Christ, who God raised from the dead and marked him out as His Son by that resurrection?

Are we baptized in water like John baptized, or are we baptized with the new birth spirit that Christ made available?

How many gods are there that can give us eternal life? Only one; the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and He is our Father, who is above all, through all, and in all of us who are born of His spirit.

Dearly beloved, God has shown us great grace in Christ Jesus our Lord. In him we have the hope of living eternally; not just to die and corrupt as every other living thing. We have the hope of eternal life.

You can either do your will and live as you please, die, and corrupt, or confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead and be saved. You choose.

God made Jesus both Lord and Christ. He raised him from the dead, forty days later he ascended into heaven and he sat down at God’s right side. His Father gave him power over every power in heaven and on earth. You can wait till he returns to see if it is so, or you can confess him as Lord and live forever. It’s your choice. Make the right one.

If you reject God’s divine favor to you, you will die, corrupt, and be destroyed. If you accept His grace and confess Jesus as your Lord, you will gain eternal life. It’s your choice; choose wisely.

Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. If I were you I’d take Him up on the offer.

There must be more to life than just existing and dying. There is.

Get born of God’s spirit by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing that God raised him from the dead and you will become a son of God as he was. You will become a member of his body and he will fill you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. Your hope will be of eternal life and to be glorified together with Christ.

Take Him up on His offer; He does not lie as men do, dearly beloved. He is true and faithful to His Word.
