Could It Be Today?

Dearly beloved, we get closer to the return of Christ every day that passes. Matthew 24 tells us no less than four times that no man, not even the angels of heaven know the day or hour of Christ’s return, but the Father alone. He repeats the truth in 25:13. Mark 13:32 adds that not even the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, knows when God will send him for us.

What we do know is that he is coming to save and redeem us. He will come to glorify us together with him. He is coming to raise the dead in Christ and change those of us who are yet living to have glorious bodies like his. He is coming to reward us.

Three times we are told in the New Testament that we will be spared from the wrath to come. His coming for us is our glorious hope. It is when we will live together with him and when we will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!

We, both the dead in Christ and the living ones, will be caught up together in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. I thank God we are in Christ, that we have access into this grace in which we stand, and we can rejoice in hope of receiving the glory of God.

Our God is the God of the hope and He fills us with all joy and peace in the believing we have in Christ Jesus our Lord so that we may abound in the hope by the power from the Holy Spirit.

Our hope should live in our hearts every single day. It is the helmet that protects our minds as we wrestle with the spirits of the darkness of this age; it’s what keeps us lit up, excited and full of joy. It inspires us to endure in the fight until the end.

Set your affection on things above beloved; not on the things reported in the daily rag, or on the evening bad news reports that only talk about the course of this world and the power of the darkness of this age.

We live in this world, dearly beloved, but we are not of it. We are citizens of the heavenly realm. We are the children of God right now today, but it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when Christ appears, we will be like him; for we will see him as he is. Our hope in him purifies us, even as he is pure.

Live in light of our hope in Christ and do those things that please him. Live love, beloved, and do the works our Lord did when he was on earth; he enabled us with power from on high; it is born within us! Speak the words of life to those in need so they can share in our glorious hope.

The administration of the fulness of times is coming when Christ will head up all things in heaven and earth. Thank God we will see his glory and receive the end of our believing; eternal life. Come quickly Lord Jesus!

Rejoice, and again I say rejoice: he is coming; maybe even today! Live like it beloved.
