God's Amazing Grace
Dearly beloved of God, our Father sent His Son to accomplish the purpose of the ages, and he did. What was this purpose?
I Thessalonians 2:12
That you would walk worthy of God, Who called you unto His kingdom and glory.
God called us unto His kingdom and glory. We entered the Kingdom of God the moment we were born again, and we will physically enter it when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to gather us together to meet him in the air. What else did the Father purpose?
Romans 8:17 and 18
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
God purposed that we would be His children, His heirs, and heirs together with Christ; we will be glorified together with him, and the glory will be beyond compare.
Colossians 3:4
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
II Thessalonians 2:14
Whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What is the object of our calling? It is “the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ” at his appearing. It was the good pleasure of the Father’s Will to determine, plan, and accomplish this reality in Christ.
Who could have imagined such a glorious reality? God did, and He accomplished it by the work of His beloved Son, and then He freely gave us all things with him. This is amazing grace indeed.
Never doubt the Father’s love for you, dearly beloved. Look what He has prepared for us! He determined that at the moment of the new birth each and every one of His children would be blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ, and when He sends His Son to gather us together we will glorified with him. These riches are ours by God’s amazing grace to us in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:29 and 30 ERV
29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:
30 And whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
“Image” in verse 29 is the word “eikon,” which means, “likeness to the original.” When we see Christ Jesus face-to-face – we will not only be with him – we will be like him! The word “conformed” is “summorphos,” and it is only used here, and in Philippians 3:21.
Philippians 3:21 ERV
Who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed [summorphos] to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.
We will be conformed to be like Christ Jesus; “conformed to the body of his glory.”
Romans 8:31 and 32
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Beloved, God will freely give us all things with Christ! He called us to His kingdom and glory. We will obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are inextricably united with Christ, and what he accomplished.
Dearly beloved, all that we now are, and all that we will be at his return is in association, in union with Christ. Rejoice! If this is not amazing grace I don’t know what is.
