God’s Heart Concerning Us
Dearly beloved of God, what is in God’s heart concerning us? Apparently, quite a lot.
I Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
Apparently He put a lot of thought, preplanning, and effort into these things. These things were a mystery until Christ accomplished all that was necessary to make them possible, and then He revealed this revelation to the Apostle Paul. No one had a clue about them. As we shall see, they were beyond anything we could ask or think about.
In this mystery concerning Christ were hidden all the treasures of wisdom and understanding. Who would have ever conceived such riches as these? Let's consider a few.
God saved us by His grace through Jesus Christ’s accomplishments.
He redeemed us in Christ by his accomplishments, not ours. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus.
God highly favored us in His beloved Son, and we are dearly beloved by Him.
He made it available to be born of the spirit from Him, and to enter the kingdom of God. He made us His children and heirs, and gave us sonship rights, privileges, and ability as His sons.
He justified us in Christ.
He forgave us by the riches of His grace which He abounded to us in Christ.
There is no more condemnation coming from God to us because we are in Christ Jesus. We will never again come into condemnation. He delivered us from the wrath to come.
In Christ we stand before God without any sense of sin, guilt, or condemnation, and when he comes we will be delivered from the presence of sin in our glorious bodies which will be like Christ’s.
In Christ, we are holy and without blame in His sight.
We identified with Christ in his accomplishments. We died with Christ, were buried with him, were made alive with him, ascended with him, were seated in the heavenlies in him, and we will be glorified with him as joint heirs. We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!
We are as he is, and we will be like him when he returns.
The Father freely gives us all things with His Son! All things from the new birth to the inheritance to come.
God our Father blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.
We have a coming inheritance as God’s beloved heirs. When Christ returns for us we will be conformed to the image of God’s Son. The dead in Christ will be raised incorruptible, and the mortal will put on immortality. Together we will be gathered up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and we will be with him from that time forward.
Then every believer will have praise of God, and we will be rewarded for having the heart to do the good pleasure of His will.
We will reign in life with him.
It will take God our Father the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
We will live in a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness. There will be no more adversary, the devil, nor any of his kingdom of darkness. There will be no more death, nor crying, nor sorrow, neither pain for the former things will have passed away. We will dwell in the presence of God and His Son under their tender loving care forever and ever.
Other than our God, who would have ever conceived such riches as these, and this is just a sampling of them? It had never come into the mind of man what God has prepared for them that love Him. I ask you again, who could have ever thought of such riches as these?
God is our God, and He is our Father, and we make up the Church of God. This is just some of what is in our Father’s heart concerning us.
Rejoice! He is coming!
