Dearly Beloved

Rely on God
Dearly beloved of God, God promised Abraham an heir in the face of Sarah’s barrenness, and in spite of their old age. God was both able and willing to perform His promise to him.
This was not written for Abraham’s sake alone, but for ours also. God is able and willing to save us if we will confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead; he was delivered for our offenses, and he was raised again for our justification.
God is able, and He is willing to keep His Word. He is faithful, and reliable. We can trust Him to keep His Word, so rely on Him, dearly beloved.
Proverbs 3:5 and 6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Either we trust God at His Word, or we don’t. If we doubt what He says how can we be trusting Him with all our heart? God is trustworthy; He has proven it century, after century, after century.
Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
It is not just to have “faith,” (pistis), or believing, we are to believe what God says. The article is in the Greek, which indicates that we are not simply to believe, but we are to believe what we hear from God; that is the right way of believing.
This is true of salvation, of prayer, and of His sufficiency in the situation we are now facing. He will fail a word of His promise. He is able and willing to perform His Word in our lives. Do we rely on Him?
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
That is the right way to believe if we are to be saved. We have to rely on Him if we are to be heirs of salvation.
I John 5:14 and 15
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
That is the right way of believing if we are to have our prayers answered. Do we rely on Him?
II Corinthians 9:6-8
Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
That is the right way of believing. Do we rely on Him for our sufficiency? This states what He is able and willing to do for us. Is this dependent on the economy, the current administration, or the markets? No; it is dependent on God’s faithfulness to His Word; He is our sufficiency, so rely on Him!
God our Father is able and willing to make “all grace abound to you.” When He says that we are highly favored in His sight He is not kidding. Rely on Him because He is reliable.
It does not matter if we faced a worldwide flood, an overpowering army, famine, Goliath, a lions den, or a burning fiery furnace; God is our sufficiency, and He is able and willing to deliver us. Rely on Him.
